  5. Although a PowerBook¬ user always has the option of putting his/her machine to ╥sleep,╙, I wanted a more dynamic, but yet energy efficient screen blanker.  None
  6. of the available screen blankers had yet incorporated the ability to dim the backlight,
  7. so I wrote one.

  9. DimWatts is a simple, but useful hack I put together as an AfterDark¬ module.  I am considering adding other Power Manager features such as ╥Rest,╙ and ╥Sleep,╙  and localtalk, and modem control.  Feedback may be influential.

  11. I am releasing DimWatts as FreeWare, but I retain all rights to it.
