  13. FMBoss is a 32-bit Windows95/NT application that operates the Reveal
  14. FM Radio card available at most computer outlets.  The OEM software is
  15. 16-bit and supports DOS and Windows 3.1.  It also runs satisfactory under
  16. Windows 95, however it won't run under Windows NT.  NT does not allow
  17. direct I/O port access.  All I/O operations are done through the OS
  18. via device drivers.

  20. Presently, Reveal does not support the radio card under NT, thus the need 
  21. for an NT Radio application.  FMBoss is built using the latest
  22. Windows 95 interface components.  It has been testing using Windows 95,
  23. NT 3.51 as well as NT 4.0 beta.  FMBoss was developed in effort to
  24. produce an application containing most all the features provided in
  25. the OEM software.  Due to the lack of support from Reveal, such as
  26. releasing the Card specifications, FMBoss currently does not support
  27. Station scanning.  Hopefully this can be incorporated in the future.
  28. I just need to obtain the information on how to read data from the card
  29. vice sending data to the card.  The feedback from the card remains a
  30. mystery.

  34. * Full 32-bit Windows95/NT compatible application
  35. * 10 preset station buttons
  36. * Preset Scan function, cycles presets at 5 second interval
  37. * Memory store, store favorite stations to preset buttons
  38. * ToolTips- Tooltip popups for all controls
  39. * Jump - jump directly to a specified radio station
  40. * Interface looks like a car stereo
  41. * Scan and Fine Scan controls

  45. Additional planned features
  46. ----------------------------
  47. * Mini View -    Will allow the user to switch to a miniture view of FMBoss.
  48.                  Only the LED display and volume control would be visible.

  50. * Tray Item? -   I could do this now, however NT 3.51 or later users could not
  51.                  use this until NT 4.0 commercial version ships.  Would allow
  52.                  FMBoss to become a tray item.  Right clicking on the icon
  53.                  would popup a menu of Power, Presets, and Volume control options.

  70. I developed FMBoss as a quick solution for NT users since it appears Reveal is not
  71. going to be of any help.  I would like to hear feedback from all users as to what 
  72. they like or dislike about FMBoss and what they would like to see in a future 
  73. version(s).
