  5. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

  7.     Clip Filer is a Clipboard Text Database Tool.  It appears to the
  8.     user as a small, moveable ToolBar which stays on top of all other
  9.     windows.  The controls allow the user to select Clip Filer Database
  10.     files, move selected text from the database to the Clipboard, move
  11.     current text from the Clipboard to the database, enter text via the
  12.     keyboard to be written to the database, and activate a full Help
  13.     system.

  16. VERSION INFORMATION

  18.     This is the SHAREWARE version of Clip Filer.  Formally, this 
  19.     version is known as CLIP FILER VER 1.02

  22. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  24.     Clip Filer is a Windows  application.  It has been tested on
  25.     the following versions of Windows:
  26.  
  27.         Windows 3.1
  28.         Windows 3.11
  29.         Windows for Workgroups 3.11
  30.         * Windows 95 Preview Program Beta (Build 347)
  31.         * Windows NT Workstation 3.5
  32.

  35.     Any computer capable of running these systems can run Clip Filer.

  38. DISTRIBUTION FILES
  39.  
  40.     The distribution package for this version of Clip Filer consists of
  41.     either one floppy disk (3 1/2 or 5 1/4 HD) or the compressed file
  42.     CLPFL09B.ZIP.  These contain the following files:

  44.         CLIPFILE.EXE    Application executable
  45.         CLIPFILE.HLP    Application Help file 
  46.         INSTALL.EXE     Standard install executeable. 
  47.         INSTALL.INF     Install information file. 
  48.         BWCC.DLL        Borland Custom Controls DLL 
  49.         README.TXT      Read Me file containing basic 
  50.                 information and installation instructions.

  53. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
  54.  
  55.     If you have the distribution version CLPFL102.ZIP, you must first
  56.     decompress the program using PKUNZIP.  The file was created using
  57.     PKZIP, version 2.04G.  You may either create a temporary directory
  58.     on your system's hard drive and unzip the file into it, or you may
  59.     use a diskette (High Density) to create an install diskette.
  60.  
  61.     Once the files are available in the "unzipped" form, use either
  62.     the File Manager or the Program Manager (File|Run) to locate and
  63.     run the INSTALL.EXE program.  You may select the destination
  64.     directory, although one is suggested.  The Install program will
  65.     create the directory, if necessary, decompress and copy files into
  66.     place, create a Program Manager Group and Program Icon.

  68.     * SPECIAL NOTE FOR WINDOWS 95 & WINDOWS NT WORKSTATION 
  69.  
  70.     The INSTALL.EXE program requires that the primary Windows "shell"
  71.     be either PROGMAN.EXE or equivalent.  The new systems do not use
  72.     PROGMAN.EXE as the "shell."  To install on these systems, simply
  73.     copy the following files to the desired directory and then create
  74.     a new program item icon/shortcut to CLIPFILE.EXE.

  80.         ** NOTE: copy this DLL to the \{WINDOWS}\SYSTEM directory,
