  63. File Manager StepUp (or FM StepUp) is a utility that improves File
  64. Manager.  Instead of replacing File Manager, FM StepUp
  65. simply makes it better.  When you install FMStepUp, additional
  66. commands are added to the menus of File Manager, and existing
  67. commands are enhanced.

  170. The following limitations exist in the current release:

  172. -  no UNICODE support is implemented;

  174. -  'Verify' checkboxes in dialog boxes are not supported;

  176. -  the 'Print' dialog box is not modified by FM StepUp (users are
  177.    encouraged to use the 'File-Copy' command and specify
  178.    destination 'PRN' to obtain similar functionality)

  180. -  the 'Space occupied' result, reported by the 'Total Size'
  181.    command, when applied to files on a non-FAT volume, should be
  182.    considered only as an estimate;

  184. -  special commands 'Run DOS Program', 'Exit Windows', 'Restart
  185.    Windows', and 'Reboot System', available in the Windows 3.1/3.11
  186.    version of FM StepUp, are not supported for Windows NT;

  196. 3. Installing FM StepUp

  199. FM StepUp comes with a convenient and flexible Setup utility,
  200. which allows you to install FM StepUp, control its availability
  201. for different groups of users, enter the registration information,
  202. etc.

  207. 4. This is TRY BEFORE YOU BUY software

  210. This is NOT freeware or public domain software.  This is software
  211. which you can "try before you buy".

  213. You may install the program in your system and use it for an
  214. evaluation period of up to 14 days. After that time, you are
  215. required to purchase a license for continued use of the software
  216. or else stop using it. You may freely copy and distribute
  217. evaluation copies of FM StepUp provided that all conditions
  218. specified in the distribution license are satisfied (please see
  219. the license agreement in the VENDINFO.DIZ file.)

  221. What's the difference between Evaluation and Licensed versions?
  222.  
  223. There is NO functional difference between the evaluation and
  224. licensed versions of this software (except for the 'registration
  225. reminders', displayed by the evaluation version). Actually, it's
  226. the same program:  you may convert an evaluation copy to a
  227. registered copy by entering your name and a registration code
  228. using the Setup utility.  Similarly, a registered copy of the
  229. program may be 'unregistered' by deleting the registration code or
  230. by just copying the program to another machine.

  232. Evaluation copies of our products are 100% fully functional.  We
  233. make them this way so you can have a real look at them to decide
  234. whether or not they fit your needs.  Please understand that if you
  235. fail to register, and continue to use 'FM StepUp' beyond the eval-
  236. uation period without paying for it, don't expect the program to
  237. maintain its original functionality:  some features may become
  238. disabled.  If you need more time to decide whether you want to
  239. keep the program, we'll give you an opportunity to extend the
  240. evaluation period.  However, we cannot afford to let you use the
  241. program without compensation.  In addition, it is unfair to our

  264. How to purchase a license for use of FM StepUp

  267. ChaoSoft licenses the software on the 'per-user', not a
  268. 'per-computer' basis.  This means that you may purchase a single
  269. individual license and use FM StepUp on more than one computer (for
  270. example, a desktop system and a notebook), provided that you are the
  271. only user of those computers and there is no possibility to use the
  272. Registered Copy by anybody else.

  274. On the other hand, if more than one person uses a computer, every
  275. such user must purchase an individual license for continued use of
  276. the software, or a site license for the total number of users
  277. accessing the computer must be obtained.
