  5. What is SRU96?
  6. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  8. SRU96 is a program to aid in the registration of business servers 
  9. within a three-tier client/server development environment.  
  10.  
  11. SRU96 provides a wizard function to register .exe, .dll and .vbr type 
  12. servers.  Classes can be easily changed from remote to local execution 
  13. and a test function is available to ensure that they are registered 
  14. correctly.  Changing a server from remote to local execution, or vice
  15. versa, is as simple as checking or unchecking an option box.

  18. What do I need to run SRU96?
  19. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  21. You must be running Microsoft Windows 95.  SRU96 is a 32-bit Windows 95 
  22. program and will not run under Windows 3.x.  SRU96 is a Visual Basic 4
  23. program and will need runtime files in order to run correctly.  To keep
  24. download times to a minimum I have created two versions of the program.

  26. SRU96.ZIP     - Without runtime files.
  27. SRU96F.ZIP     - With runtime files.

  29. NOTE:  If you do not have Visual Basic 4.0 installed then you will
  30. probably need to download the runtime files in order for SRU96 to run.

  35. How do I install SRU96?

  38. Extract the files to a temporary directory and Run the Setup program 
  39. provided.  Alternately, rush out and get a copy of Winzip 6.1 which
  40. will automatically unzip and run the setup program for you. (Commission?)

  42. Setup will ask you where to install SRU96 to, the default is 
  43. C:\Program Files\Server Registration. After selecting the directory, 
  44. it will then copy the files to that directory and create an icon on
  45. your Start Menu.

  48. Why should I use SRU96?
  49. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  51. If you work in an environment that is developing three-tier client/server
  52. systems then you will need to register your business servers to run on 
  53. remote machines.  
  54.  
  55. SRU96 provides a simple way to register your servers to run either 
  56. remotely or locally, to test that they have been configured correctly 
  57. and to change their properties (i.e. the machine, on the network, that 
  58. the server will run on).

  76. How do I Uninstall SRU96?

  79. From the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel, select SRU96 and click 
  80. Add/Remove.  SRU96 should then be automatically uninstalled

  86. SRU96 is not free!!

  88. You may use SRU96 for 30 days for evaluation purposes.  If at the end 
  89. of this period you continue to use the program you must register it.
