English ReadMe Text Welcome to the Slipstream 5000 Demo, the following text contains all the information regarding this demo and the full game. Each player adopts the role of the ten selectable pilots. Competing in a gruelling 10 race season to become the Ultimate Slipstreamer. The ten race tracks feature famous locations around the world. You can zoom down the river Thames in London, or shoot past the Sphinx in Egypt. The only track featured in the demo is Arizona USA where you will be flying at breakneck speed down a course we've constructed at the Grand Canyon. In the demo you'll be competing against 4 other Slipstreamers. There will be 10 of them in the finished game. 2.0 Controls ------------ This Slipstream 5000 demo is controlled using Joystick or keyboard The mouse is only used for the menu systems at the moment but we will include it as a full option in the finished game. 2.1 Option Page --------------- Here there are two options, Start Demo or Configuration. If you select Configuration you will be presented with another screen displaying other options, the one to concentrate on is DETAIL. From this option you can adjust the game to suit your machine's speed. All the options are configured to work on a Very Fast PC such as a Pentium. By altering the various settings in the DETAIL menu you will be able to set the game to play smoothly if you have a slower PC. Experiment with these settings to get the best configuration for your machine. All the other options are self explanatory so I won't go into these in detail. The other option is START DEMO. Guess what? This will take you into the demo. 3.0 Selecting a ship -------------------- You're going to need a ship to race in. When this screen appears you will see all the available ships. Move the cursor over the ship you want and press the mouse button (or if you are using the cursor keys, just hit return). The driver of this ship will appear with the commands; Accept, Cancel, and View. The first two are obvious and the View icon will show you the chosen craft in glorious 3D. 4.0 The Race ------------ Down to business. When you begin the starting line-up will appear. Unfortunately you're in last place because we haven't included the 'Qualify' section in this demo. You can race using either the joystick or keyboard. Keep an eye out out for the blue tunnel entrance which leads you to the pit repair zone, fly through this your ship recharges back to full efficiency. 4.1 Joystick Control -------------------- Joystick Movement Ships Movement UP DOWN DOWN UP LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT BUTTON 1 ACCELERATE BUTTON 2 FIRE ADDITIONAL KEYBOARD KEY S SELECT WEAPON 4.2 Keyboard Control -------------------- Keyboard Ships Movement CURSOR UP DOWN CURSOR DOWN UP CURSOR LEFT LEFT CURSOR RIGHT RIGHT SPACE ACCELERATE ENTER FIRE S SELECT WEAPON There is no brake (these are flying craft) but if you stop holding down the throttle you will slow down quickly. 4.3 Camera Controls ------------------- During the race, fly-through and demos of other tracks you can change camera views using the function keys as follows: F1 - Cockpit, F2 - Chase, F3 - Rear, F4 - TV, F5 - Free When using the "Free" camera you can view your ship from any angle and distance by using the Ins, Del, PgUp, PgDn, Plus and Minus keys on your numeric keypad to move the camera around. 5.0 Troubleshooting ------------------- The Slipstream 5000 Demo must be installed onto a hard drive in order for it to work. Dans cette démonstration, seul le parcours Arizona est disponible et vous pourrez affronter 4 concurrents sur les dix existants dans la version finale. 2.0 Contrâles La démo de Slipstream se contrâle au Joystick ou au clavier. La souris est utilisée pour les choix d'options, mais sera intégrée comme système de contrâle à part entière dans la version complète. 2.1 Ecran d'options Le choix de départ est simple : Start Demo (commencer la démo) ou Configuration. Dans le menu Configuration, une option est particulièrement importante : le choix du niveau de détail. Plus votre machine est puissante, plus vous pouvez afficher de détails. Par défaut, cette démo est réglée pour un PC puissant. Si la démo est lente sur votre PC, n'hésitez pas à dégrader le niveau de détail afin de l'adapter à la puissance de calcul de votre machine. 3.0 Sélectionner un engin Sélectionner un engin est très facile. Déplacez votre curseur sur l'engin voulu et cliquez ou appuyez sur la touche Entrée pour valider votre choix. 4.0 La course Comme vous n'avez pas accès à l'option Qualifications dans cette démo, vous vous retrouverez à chaque fois en dernière position sur la grille de départ. Jeder Spieler ⁿbernimmt die Rolle eines Piloten, von denen ihm zehn zur Auswahl stehen. Der Wettkampf um den Titel des besten Slipstreamers besteht aus 10 verschiedenen und herausfordernden Rennkursen. Diese 10 Rennen versetzen Sie an berⁿhmte SchauplΣtze der Renngeschichte auf der ganzen Welt. Fliegen Sie den River Thames in London entlang oder schie▀en Sie vorbei an der Sphinx in ─gypten. Der einzige Track, der in der Demo gezeigt wird, ist Arizona, USA, wo Sie in halsbrecherischer Geschwindigkeit einen Kurs entlang donnern, den wir extra dafⁿr im Grand Canyon konstruiert haben. In der Demo werden Sie gegen 4 andere Slipstreamer antreten.Im endgⁿltigen Spiel werden es 10 Slipstreamer sein. 2.0 Diese Slipstream 5000 Demo wird per Joystick oder Tastatur gesteuert. Die Maus wird zur Zeit nur fⁿr die verschiedenen Menⁿs benutzt, ist aber letztendlich im fertigen Spiel als zusΣtzliche Option eingebaut. 2.1 Hier gibt es zwei Optionen: Start Demo oder Konfiguration. Wenn Sie Konfiguration auswΣhlen, erscheint ein anderer Bildschirm, der weitere Optionen anzeigt. Wir wollen insbesondere auf den Punkt DETAIL eingehen. Mit Hilfe dieser Option k÷nnen Sie die Geschwindigkeit Ihrer Flugmaschine einstellen. SΣmtliche Optionen sind so konfiguriert, da▀ sie auf einem sehr schnellem Rechner, wie z.B. einem Pentium, laufen. Durch die VerΣnderung der unterschiedlichen Einstellungen im DETAIL Menⁿ, k÷nnen Sie die Geschwindigkeit des Spiels Ihrem PC anpassen, sofern Sie einen langsameren Rechner besitzen. Probieren Sie einfach die verschiedenen Einstelllungen aus, um die beste Konfiguration fⁿr Ihren Rechner herauszufinden. Die anderen Optionen erklΣren sich von selbst, darum gehen wir jetzt nicht ins Detail. Die zweite Option ist START DEMO. Und wissen Sie was? Damit starten Sie Ihre Demo. 3.0 Auswahl einer Flugmaschine Sie ben÷tigen eine Flugmaschine, um an den Rennen teilzunehmen. Sobald der zustΣndige Bildschirm erscheint, stehen Ihnen alle verfⁿgbaren Schiffe zur Auswahl. Bewegen Sie den Cursor auf das Schiff Ihrer Wahl und drⁿcken Sie den Mausknopf (bei Tastatursteuerung bitte [Return]). Der Pilot des Schiffes wird erscheinen zusammen mit den Kommandos: Accept, Cancel und View. Die Bedeutung der ersten beiden ist klar. Wenn Sie View anwΣhlen, wird das ausgewΣhlte Schiff in 3D dargestellt. 4.0 Das Rennen Jetzt geht's richtig los. Bei Beginn wird das Starterfeld erscheinen. Leider befinden Sie sich an letzter Stelle, da wir in dieser Demo die Qualifikationsrunde ausgelassen haben. Sie k÷nnen wΣhrend des Rennens per Joystick oder Tastatur steuern. Achten Sie auf den Eingang mit dem blauen Tunnel, der Sie in die Boxenstation fⁿhrt.
