<p>Your Money file contains private information about your investments, bills, budget, and taxes. If other people have access to your computer and you do not want them to see your file, you can protect your information with a password.</p>

<p><emph>To assign a password</emph></p>
<ol>
<li>On the <emph>File</emph> menu, click <emph>Login Lockbox</emph>.</li>
<li>Click the tab to set your Money file password or your passwords for banks and other financial institutions.</li>
<li>Follow the instructions on your screen. To delete a password, enter your old password and leave the new password boxes blank.</li>

<p variant="warn">Assign your password carefully and be sure to keep a record of it in a safe place. Choose a password you can easily remember, but that others cannot easily guess. Password-protected Money files are very secure. You can set up a password just for your Money file, or you can use MSN Passport, which keeps your Money file secure and enables you to use convenient online features. Passport also assists you if you forget your password. If you do not use Passport, and you misplace your password, you will lose access to all the data in your file. Because of legal restrictions, Microsoft Product Support Services cannot help you open your file.</p>
