<p variant="note">Before you do this, you must complete the asset allocation review.</p>

<tease>Why?</tease>
<reveal>
<p>Money uses the asset class of each investment for accurate asset allocation.</p>
<p>If you enter an investment's stock symbol and then update Internet information, Money automatically downloads the <glossary>asset class</glossary>. If Money doesn't recognize the investment or if the investment isn't a stock or mutual fund, you can manually enter the investment's asset class. </p>

<tease>How do I enter the asset class for an investment that isn't included in my asset allocation?</tease>
<reveal>
<p>If you've chosen to exclude an account from your asset allocation, you can still assign an asset class to it for your own tracking purposes.</p>
<ol>
<li>On the <emph>Investing</emph> menu, click <emph> Portfolio</emph>.</li>
<li>Right-click an investment, and then click <emph>See Details</emph>.</li>
<li>In the <emph>Asset Class</emph> box, click the new asset class.</li>

<tease>Where can I get asset class information on my investment holdings?</tease>
<reveal>
<p>You can find asset class information for mutual funds in the fund's annual or quarterly report to shareholders. Contact your broker for this information.</p>
<p> You can also click <emph>Find Symbol</emph> after right-clicking an investment, and then clicking <emph>See Details</emph>. Use the stock symbol to research the asset class on MSN Money on the Web.</p>

<tease>When I updated my Internet information in Money, it changed a stock's asset class that I had manually entered. Why?</tease>
<reveal>
<p>When you update Internet information, Money automatically downloads asset class information for stocks with ticker symbols. The information is based on the most recent data from major financial research institutions and overwrites manually entered asset class information.</p>
<p>To override an investment's downloaded asset class, remove its ticker symbol on the <emph>Details</emph> page for that investment. However, you then won't be able to download current prices or other information for that investment. And because Money's information on historical returns and risk is based on downloaded asset class information, that data will be inconsistent with the asset allocation you've chosen.</p>
