<p>A home equity report tells you the market value of your house minus the amount you owe on it. You may want to know your home equity amount to see how your net worth is increasing, to find out if you can take out a home equity loan, or to see how much cash you would realize if you sold your home. Remember to take selling costs, such as real estate commissions, into consideration if you are thinking about selling your home.</p>

<li>On the <emph>Reports</emph> menu, click <emph>Reports Gallery</emph>.</li>
<li>In the left pane, click <frgmnt sku="biz"><emph>Personal</emph>, and then click </frgmnt><emph>What I Have</emph>.</li>
<li>Double-click <emph>Net Worth</emph>.</li>
<li>In the left pane, click <emph>Customize</emph>.</li>
<li>Click the <emph>Account</emph> tab, and then click <emph>Clear All</emph>.</li>
<li>In the list, select the check boxes for your home asset account and your home loan account.</li>
<p>If your asset account is not listed, you need to create it. <alink type="prcdr" href="Createanassetaccount.xml"/></p>
<li>Click the <emph>Rows & Columns</emph> tab, and then delete any values in the <emph>Combine all values under</emph> box.</li>
<li>Make sure the <emph>Sort by</emph> box is empty.</li>
<li>Under <emph>Level of detail</emph>, click <emph>Accounts</emph>.</li>
<li>Click <emph>Apply</emph>, and then click <emph>OK</emph>.</li>
