<p>You may be able to take a tax deduction for your medical and dental expenses. However, you can only deduct your unreimbursed expenses that exceed 7.5% of your <glossary>adjusted gross income</glossary>. In other words, your total medical and dental expenses, less any reimbursements, are reduced by 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. You can deduct the remainder with your other itemized deductions.</p>
<p>You can generally deduct reasonable, unreimbursed medical expenses for yourself, your spouse, and your dependents, including doctor, dentist, and hospital bills, glasses and contacts, health insurance premiums, transportation to medical care, and prescriptions.</p>
