<p>If you download a transaction from your bank that you've split into several transactions in the account register, you'll need to match the downloaded transaction to each transaction in the account register. For example, you might withdraw $100 from an <glossary>ATM</glossary>, spend it in three different stores, and record a separate transaction in the account register for each purchase.</p>

<li>On the <emph>Accounts & Bills</emph> menu, click <emph>Account List</emph>.</li>
<li>Click the account containing the transaction you want to match.</li>
<li>Click <emph>Change</emph> on that transaction.</li>
<li>On the <emph>Review transaction details</emph> page select the check boxes for the transactions to which the downloaded transaction should be matched.</li>
<p>Money will show you the number of transactions and the total amount of the transactions you've selected.</p>
<li>Click <emph>Done</emph>.</li>

<tease>What is an unassigned amount?</tease>

<p>In a split transaction, an unassigned amount is any part of the transaction total that is not assigned to a category or to any part of the split transaction.</p>
<p>When you download a statement, you may discover that the bank recorded some transactions differently than you did, and consequently you may need to match multiple transactions from the account register to one transaction in the downloaded statement. If the total of the transactions from the account register does not equal the total of the downloaded transaction, you'll have an unassigned amount. The unassigned amount will equal the difference between the transactions in the account register and the transaction you downloaded. You can assign the amount to one of the transaction parts or to its own category.</p>
