<ol>
<li>On the <emph>Planner</emph> menu, click <emph>Budget Planner</emph>.</li>
<li>In the left pane, click <emph>Save or open a budget</emph>.</li>
<li>Save your current budget or open an archived one:</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>To save a budget, click <emph>Save Current Budget</emph>, enter a name for the budget, click <emph>OK</emph>, and then click <emph>Close</emph>.</li>
<li>To open an archived budget, select the budget you want to open, and then click <emph>Load Budget</emph>.</li>
</ul>
<p variant="note">Money may ask if you want to save the current budget before it opens the one you selected. If you choose not to save it, Money will delete it.</p>

<tease>Why don't I see <emph>Save or open a budget</emph> when I go to the Budget Planner?</tease>

<p>Two reasons may prevent you from saving or opening a budget:</p>
<ul>
<li>You have not yet completed a budget.</li>
<li>You upgraded your Money or Quicken file and have not yet reviewed all of your budget in Money 2002.</li>
</ul>
<p>To set savings goals, you need to complete your Money 2002 budget.</p>

<tease>Why do I still see my current budget after saving it?</tease>

<p>Saving a budget in Money is similar to saving a Word document or Excel spreadsheet. Money saves your current budget and leaves it on the screen in case you want to use continue to use that data, rather than starting over with a brand new budget. You can open the budget you saved if you don't like the changes you make after saving it. Or, to start over, click <emph>Create a new budget</emph> in the left pane.</p>
