<p>Because America Online and some other ISPs don't use the standard dial-up networking connection method included with Windows, you need to configure your Internet connection before Money can connect.</p>

<li>On the <emph>Tools</emph> menu, click <emph>Options</emph>, and then click the <emph>Connection</emph> tab.</li>
<li>Under <emph>Internet Connection</emph>, select the <emph>I use America Online to connect to the Internet </emph>check box.</li>
<li>Click <emph>Connection Settings</emph>.</li>
<li>On the <emph>Connections</emph> tab, click <emph>LAN Settings</emph>.</li>
<li>Clear all the check boxes on the <emph>Local Area Network (LAN) Settings </emph> dialog.</li>
<li>Click <emph>OK</emph>, and then click <emph>OK</emph> again.</li>
<li>To use AOL or other ISP dial-up connection software with Money, connect to the Internet before using any of Money's online features.</li>

<li>Start your AOL or other third party software, and allow it to dial up and connect.</li>
<li>Minimize AOL (or whatever software you are using), but be careful not to exit it. It must be running to provide your Internet connection.</li>

<p>If they do not work, check to make sure you are still connected to the Internet by opening the ISP software window and navigating to the Internet. If you can navigate to the Internet, but Money's online features are still not working, close Money (leaving your ISP running), and then restart Money.</p>

<p>You can use the following steps to determine the cause of the problem and fix it:</p>

<li>Quit all programs that are running on your computer.</li>
<li>Determine if a default Internet dial-up connection is configured for your computer.</li>

<li>Follow the instructions on the screen to finish configuring Money to your Internet dial-up connection software.</li>

<li>To use third party Internet dial-up connection software with Money, use either of the following methods</li>
<ul>
<li>Start your third party Internet dial-up connection software, log on to your ISP, and then start Money.</li>
<li>When Money prompts you to connect to the Internet, start your third party Internet dial-up connection software, log on to your ISP, and then click <emph>OK</emph>.</li>
