<p>If you've set up the account to use only a single currency, or if you've set it up to use <glossary tNum="288841">euros</glossary> as the base currency, you won't be able to switch between currencies. If you live or work in a country that's part of the <glossary>European Monetary Union</glossary>, it's best to set up accounts in your local currency rather than in euros until your bank statements are in euros. That way, you can switch between your local currency and euros.</p>

<p>You can do this only if that local currency is a member of the <glossary>European Monetary Union</glossary>, and you'll need to set the currency of your account to the local currency, not the euro.</p>

<li>In the left pane of the <glossary>account register</glossary> of your account, click <emph>Change account details</emph>.</li>
<li>In the <emph>Account currency</emph> box, enter the name of the local currency you use, and then click <emph>Done</emph>.</li>
<li>Go back to the account register, where you can enter transactions in both your local currency and in euros.</li>
