  2.       === LASI System Installation from Networked ZIP Files ===
  3.  
  4.   LASI 5.1 requires an 80386 or higher and VGA graphics or higher. If you
  5.   do not have these you can install the LASI CAD system, but you will not 
  6.   be able to run the main drawing program.
  7.  
  8.   The files of the LASI CAD system are compressed in a single ZIP file 
  9.   LASI51?.ZIP, or have been broken into two groups for better downloading. 
  10.   The group files are named LASI51?A.ZIP and LASI51?B.ZIP, where "?" 
  11.   represents the revision number digit (0-9). They are compressed using 
  12.   PKZIP 2.0.

  14.   To install, follow these steps:

  16.   1. Create a subdirectory named "\LASI5" on your hard disk, directly
  17.      under the root directory.
  18.  
  19.   2. Copy the files in LASI51?.ZIP or LASI51?A.ZIP and LASI51?B.ZIP  
  20.      into the \LASI5 subdirectory. 
  21.      
  22.   3. Using PKUNZIP 2.0 or similar program, uncompress the files. You MUST 
  23.      have the files from BOTH groups, and they MUST have the same DATES.

  25.   4. Make the \LASI5 subdirectory the default directory.
  26.  
  27.   5. Run the help program LHI.EXE by simply typing "lhi". Read the "Basic 
  28.      Information/Installing LASI" help topic to complete installation.

  32.   === Subdirectory Installation of TUTOR.ZIP, CHARS.ZIP and ICONS.ZIP ===

  34.   A tutorial drawing and Windows icons have been included with LASI. 
  35.   The tutorial is a small opamp IC layout that may be used when first 
  36.   learning LASI. After the LASI system has been installed, the tutorial 
  37.   and the icons may be installed by following these steps:
  38.  
  39.   1. Create a subdirectories under the \LASI5 subdirectory named
  40.      "\LASI5\TUTOR", "\LASI5\CHARS" and "\LASI5\ICONS" on your hard disk.
  41.  
  42.   2. Copy TUTOR.ZIP, CHARS.ZIP and ICONS.ZIP into their directories.
  43.  
  44.   3. Run PKUNZIP or similar program on TUTOR.ZIP and ICONS.ZIP and 
  45.      uncompress these files in their directories.

  49.                     === Running the Tutorial ===

  51.   1. Make the \LASI5\TUTOR subdirectory the default directory.

  53.   2. Run the batch file TUTOR.BAT by typing "tutor". This will reconstruct
  54.      the drawing and run LASI. The layout of the IC will be drawn. Press
  55.      F1 for LASI help or F2 to start the tutorial.
