  15. Shareware Version of Quickroute 1.5 for DOS
  16. -------------------------------------------

  18. This is the shareware version of Quickroute 1.5 for DOS. It is a fully
  19. functional piece of software that will let you design, load/save, and
  20. print PCB's or schematics on your IBM PC.
  21.  
  22. Quickroute is protected by Copyright law throughout the world. If you 
  23. decide to use Quickroute to produce any kind of graphic design then
  24. you must register with POWERware at :

  28. Registration costs just 60 US dollars, and the benefits include
  29. a full registered version of the software with all the latest printer
  30. and plotter drivers including 24 pin dot-matrix , LaserJet, HPGL 
  31. plotters, as well as our new high quality A5 size manual, complete with
  32. A5 ring binder. We will also send you the latest symbol libraries.

  41. 1 SVGA Suppourt
  42. ---------------

  44. Quickroute 1.5 now suppourts SVGA graphics at a resolution of 800x600 in 
  45. 16 colours. Just run Quickroute with the /svga option to use this mode.

  47. To use SVGA graphics the file 'SVGA16.BGI' must be present in the 
  48. Quickroute directory, and this is supplied with Quickroute. The file 
  49. 'SVGA16.BGI' is shareware and is copyright 'Jordan Hargraphix Software'.
  50. Unpack the file SVGA.EXE for registration details and the full distribution
  51. (see below). Note that the device driver has been released 'free of charge'
  52. although you should read the file 'README' in the distribution if you 
  53. make use of SVGA graphics. Note that many mouse drivers do not suppourt
  54. SVGA graphics, although you can always use the cursor keys.

  56. Extracting SVGA.EXE
  57. -------------------

  59. The file SVGA.EXE is a self extracting compressed file containing the 
  60. SVGA distribution that is copyright 'Jordan Hargraphix Software'. Simply
  61. copy the file into a new directory, and run SVGA. The files will then
  62. be automatically extracted. The file 'README' contains details on the
  63. drivers and there use.

  65. 2 Printers
  66. ----------

  68. Quickroute 1.5 provides suppourt for 9 pin dot-matrix, 24 pin dot-matrix
  69. and LaserJet printers. It is recommended that you use 'High' quality for
  70. production hard-copy, and if your PCB manufacturing method can suppourt
  71. 2:1 designs, then print using Zoom mode X2.0.

  73. Note that the high quality mode in the 9 pin dot-matrix printer driver 
  74. can only be used to print designs smaller than around 6" wide. You can
  75. however tile your print outs for larger PCB's, or use 24 pin or Laser
  76. printer drivers.

  78. Many laser printers are capable of printing directly onto transparent
  79. plastic sheets, which is useful for UV based PCB production.

  82. 3 Quickroute 2.0 Files
  83. ----------------------

  85. Quickroute 1.5 for DOS can read Quickroute 2.0 design files, and will attempt
  86. to convert between the two formats. Note that some Quickroute 2.0 features
  87. are not supported (arcs, ellipses, etc) because they are stored differently
  88. in Quickroute 2.0. There will also be some loss of resolution.

  90. Importing Quickroute 1.5 files into Quickroute 2.0 is much easier, and
  91. virtually all Quickroute 1.5 features are supported. There should be no loss
  92. of resolution.

  95. 4 Pick All Option
  96. -----------------

  98. There is now a new option on the 'Options' menu called 'Pick All'. When it
  99. is toggled ON (default) then tracks and pads are searched by the pick
  100. function and the closest object to the cursor is selected. When it is 
  101. toggled OFF, only the pads are searched. This is useful where a pad and a
  102. track node occur at the same point.
