- HAMLOG
- ======
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
- HAMLOG is a station log keeping program for the PSION SERIES 3 organiser.
- It will store date, start time, end time, band, mode, power, station
- details and notes. When required the program will output a text file of
- the log entries to the internal memory.
-
- YOU CAN TRY THIS SOFTWARE FOR A PERIOD OF 28 DAYS AFTER WHICH YOU MUST
- REGISTER IF YOU WISH TO KEEP USING IT.
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Installation
- ------------
- The program comprises two files HAMLOG.OPA and HAML3.OPA, only one of the
- programs is needed for installation. HAMLOG is for the series 3a and HAML3
- is for the series 3. If you received the program via a BBS these files,
- along with some document files will be zipped into a file called HAMLOG.ZIP.
- The zip file must be un-archived into the original files before it can be
- installed on the PSION series 3.
-
- To install the program copy the appropriate file to the \APP directory on
- your PSION, and install the program into the main screen using the PSION-I
- command. The file can be loaded to any local drive as required.
-
- Files
- -----
- The program generates 3 files, one keeps the log entries, one keeps the
- default settings and the last keeps the password data. If you have a
- registered version you can save the log file to drive A: or B: for additional
- security.
-
- If you should run into problems you can delete the password file and the
- configuration file and rerun the software. This will recreate the required
- files which can then be configured as required using the register and
- default options from the menu.
-
- If the program does find a problem with the password or default file it will
- erase them.
-
- Operation
- ---------
- When run the main screen shows information and a menu selection bar. You can
- choose the required option or view the list by pressing TAB.
-
- LOG - this option starts a log entry and will display the data entry screens,
- you can enter the appropriate data and move down the entries with the
- cursor key. When entries are correct you can press enter and move to
- the next screen.
-
- When complete the main menu shows. If you select LOG again the
- log entry screen will show and allow the end time to be added.
-
- The registered version allows all previous entries for the current
- record to be amended as required.
-
- If you have completed an entry - and have made an error, you can load
- the logfile using the PSION database program in ROM and edit the last
- entry. YOU SHOULD ONLY EVER EDIT THE LAST ENTRY AS EDITING EARLIER
- ENTRIES SENDS THEM TO THE END OF THE FILE WHEN YOU SAVE THEM. THIS WILL
- RESULT IN THE LOG FILE BEING OUT OF ORDER.
-
- If you have version 1.01+ you can edit any entry if you have a file
- sorter. The date field of each entry has the time included so that
- sorting the database on field 1 will maintain the chronologial order
- of the log.
-
- OUTPUT - This option outputs the finished log file in text format for
- printing etc - the file is output to the \WRD directory on the
- internal memory. If you have the registered version you can output
- to a remote floppy drive on your PC via the link or print using a
- parallel interface.
-
- DEFAULTS - This option allows you to enter default information that will
- prefill on the data entry screens. You can enter your callsign,
- preferred band, output power and mode. If you have the registered
- version you can select a default drive for the logfile (good security)
- and you can select a GMT offset. The GMT offset will change the prefill
- time shown to that of GMT (from local). You can enter the number of
- hours ahead of GMT that your local time is.
-
- You can change defaults at anytime, the program will close the default
- file and reload it. Defaults will not save if program is not registered
- and used after 1994.
-
- REGISTRATION - If you register the software you will be able to use the
- additional registered facilities, you will also receive a copy of the
- latest version of the software on 3.5" HD disk (if UK registered by
- post).
-
- When registering please 1) Include you registration fee
- 2) Your full name
- 3) Your full address.
- Selecting the register option will display some information screens
- followed by the main registration screen, where you can enter your
- full name and password. When registered the software will show your
- name on the main screen.
-
- REGISTRATION is primarily for the UK, users outside the UK should write for
- registration prices and details.
-
- SECURITY
- --------
- When the logfile becomes large you should copy it to another device
- and then HAMLOG will generate a new file. Before doing this you can
- print your log and file it for future use. If you make sure you save
- or copy your current log you can copy across an old log to output,
- remembering to re-load the new log afterwards.
-
- HAMLOG only works with one log file - be careful not to delete or
- copy over it by mistake. Also remember that backups of the logfile
- should be made to prevent loss due to equipment failure or other
- problems.
-
- DISCLAIMER

- ALTHOUGH EVERY EFFORT HAS BEEN MADE TO ENSURE THIS PROGRAM WORKS
- CORRECTLY - NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ACCEPTED FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA ETC
- DUE TO ITS USE, MISUSE OR INSTALLATION ETC.
