After nearly 6 years in consumer product sales for Kraft, I am strongly motivated to make a career change. In particular, I wish to combine my many years as a computer enthusiast with my sales experience to find a position in personal computer training. I am writing to you because I have been a satisfied Computers Plus customer for a number of years, and because I am convinced that my skills and enthusiasm would make a fine addition to your training staff.
My resume provides ample evidence of my abilities. I have more than 6 years' experience in corporate sales, including 2 years selling high end, technology-intensive products. Within my division, I was named the Top Producer three times, never failed to meet a sales quota, and was promoted on a regular basis.
What my resume will not express in any degree of detail is my passion for personal computing and the evangelistic zeal with which I have helped convert many of my friends and family members from technophobes to avid computer users. My prior experience in computer training is all volunteer, but does include conducting workshops on "Buying Your First Computer" for the Skokie Chamber of Commerce.
Could we arrange for an interview? I will plan to call you within the next two weeks to set up an appointment. In the meantime, I appreciate your time and consideration.
