After four years as the Display Manager for Nordstrom's Puyallup store, I am interested in taking on a new set of challenges. I was given your name by John Morrish, who is a close personal friend of mine. John indicated that there might be a very good fit between my experience and your requirements for Allied's recently-announced downtown Seattle store.
My resume is enclosed for you review. As you will see, I offer over 10 years' experience in the retail display field. My managerial capabilities are further illustrated by the fact that I worked myself up from trainee to manager in less than three years. I also have extensive experience in new store openings, having worked on Nordstrom's design teams for their Orange County, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. stores.
As evidence of my creative abilities, I would like to draw your attention to the two design awards which I won while I was in college, and the recent inclusion of four of my textile works in a show at the Queen Anne Gallery. My logo design was also a finalist in the recent SeaFair competition.
I believe that my managerial abilities, creativity and understanding of the Northwest retail market would make a strong contribution to your first Seattle store. May I call you to schedule an interview?
I appreciate your consideration, and look forward to talking to you soon.
