  9. For several years, PROCYON is the most extensive Astronomy program for the
  10. Series 3a/3c and 5/5mx. With the release of the Series 7, many requests came to port 
  11. the program for the new Psion machine. Here we release the first (and only) 
  12. astronomy program for the Series 7 and call it PROCYON XL.

  17. With this version, we start a new generation of PROCYON  that takes 
  18. advantage of the larger size of the screen of the Series 7 as well as of the support of colors.

  26. The Light version of PROCYON XL is free for non-commercial use and can be
  27. considered freeware. However, you can also see this version as a shareware
  28. program and once you register you will have added benefits. For details,
  29. look at the above-mentioned homepage.

  32. INSTALLATION
  33. =============
  34. PROCYON XL installation is the same like every other well-behaved program.
  35.  
  36. Make sure you can see the SYSTEM directory on your Psion 7.
  37. Go to either C:\System\Apps\ or D:\System\Apps\
  38. 'Make a  new folder' and name it PROCYON
  39. Do not change this name or else you will not see the program on the Extra's bar.
  40. Copy all the Procyon files into this directory.
  41. When you press the 'Extras' button, a PROCYON X Icon will appear.
  42. Put RMRAlarm.opx in C:\SYSTEM\OPX.

  44. ATTENTION
  45. ==========
  46. Be careful to copy only the files to your Psion 7 (do not convert them), as
  47. they are already in the Psion 7 native format.

  49. If your Psion uses a comma ',' to separate decimals as in 2,03 then you have
  50. to switch your decimal separator to dot instead of the comma therefore,
  51. PROCYON recognizes 2.03 as 2+(3/100) instead of 2030.

  53. For more information, copy the File PROCYON.HLP to your Psion 7 and double-tap
  54. the file to read.

  59. PROCYON XL: a LIGHT and a PROFESSIONAL Version
  60. =============================================
  61.  
  62. You are currently using the Light version of PROCYON XL.
  63. This version is FREEWARE. You can use this version in its present state for 
  64. free for as long as you like and you do not need to register to keep using it.
  65.  
  66. However, it is your choice to consider this version as SHAREWARE and register 
  67. to receive a 7PROCYON.KEY file. This file switches the Freeware version into 
  68. the Registered PRO version. You will also need the separately available 
  69. Auxiliary pack with extra databases.
  70. Registration is a one-time process, once you receive you 7PROCYON.KEY file in 
  71. your email (it's one a few bytes) you copy this to the same directory 
  72. containing all the files.
  73. Every new version of PROCYON XL will detect this Key-file and switch to PRO 
  74. mode. Therefore, all future versions are free, once registered.

  76. Of course, you can also get all future PROCYON XL Light versions for free.

  81. * You can search for any specific Constellations.
  82. * Calculate when the Jovian Red Spot is visible and watch the Red Spot on the 
  83.   face of Jupiter. You can adjust the value of the latitude of the Red Spot.
  84. * You can establish the dates of Lunar Eclipse and view the Moon in the shadow
  85.   of the Earth.
  86. * Real pictures of all Messier-nebulae instead of only a picture representing
  87.   the type.
  88. * Search all objects of the NGC Catalogue instead of only the first 100 in the
  89.   Light version.
  90. * High precision mode up to a few arc-seconds (see 0.99 additions).
  91. * Yale-database extended to magnitude 5 instead of 4 in the  Light version.
  92. * Reference Stars in the Zoom-window up to magnitude 7.
