  6. DESCRIPTION

  9. For several years, PROCYON is the most extensive Astronomy program for the
  10. Series 3a/3c and 5/5mx. With the release of the Revo, many requests came to port 
  11. the program for the new Psion machine. Here we release the first (and only) 
  12. astronomy program for the Revo and call it PROCYON R.
  13.

  15. PROCYON R
  16. ==============================
  17. With this version, we start a version of PROCYON R that takes full
  18. advantage of the Revo.
  19. * You can identify many objects just by pointing at them.
  20. * Much higher precision
  21. * No more memory constraints like the Psion 3a/c so we have put in even 
  22.   more astronomy gizmo's.
  23. * Faster rebuild of the universe (but we cannot take credit for that).

  29. The Light version of PROCYON R is free for non-commercial use and can be
  30. considered freeware. However, you can also see this version as a shareware
  31. program and once you register you will have added benefits. For details,
  32. look at the above-mentioned homepage.

  35. INSTALLATION
  36. =============
  37. PROCYON R installation is the same like every other well-behaved program.
  38.  
  39. Make sure you can see the SYSTEM directory on your Revo.
  40. Go to either C:\System\Apps\ or D:\System\Apps\
  41. 'Make a  new folder' and name it PROCYONR
  42. Do not change this name or else you will not see the program on the Extra's bar.
  43. Copy all the Procyon files into this directory.
  44. When you press the 'Extras' button, a PROCYON R Icon will appear.

  47. ATTENTION
  48. ==========
  49. Be careful to copy only the files to your Psion Revo (do not convert them), as
  50. they are already in the Psion Revo native format.

  52. If your Psion uses a comma ',' to separate decimals as in 2,03 then you have
  53. to switch your decimal separator to dot instead of the comma therefore,
  54. PROCYON recognizes 2.03 as 2+(3/100) instead of 2030.

  56. If you are updating PROCYON R, before using the program first delete the PROCYONR.INI file in the 
  57. C:\SYSTEM\APPS\PROCYONR directory!!!

  59. For more information, copy the File PROCYONR.HLP to your Psion 5 and double-tap
  60. the file to read.

  65. PROCYON R: a LIGHT and a PROFESSIONAL Version
  66. =============================================
  67.  
  68. You are currently using the Light version of PROCYON R.
  69. This version is FREEWARE. You can use this version in its present state for 
  70. free for as long as you like and you do not need to register to keep using it.
  71.  
  72. However, it is your choice to consider this version as SHAREWARE and register 
  73. to receive a PROCYONR.KEY file. This file switches the Freeware version into 
  74. the Registered PRO version. You will also need the separately available 
  75. Auxiliary pack with extra databases.
  76. Registration is a one-time process, once you receive you PROCYONR.KEY file in 
  77. your email (it's one a few bytes) you copy this to the same directory 
  78. containing all the files.
  79. Every new version of PROCYON R will detect this Key-file and switch to PRO 
  80. mode. Therefore, all future versions are free, once registered.

  82. Of course, you can also get all future PROCYON R Light versions for free.

  85. Differences between the LIGHT and the PRO version.

  87. * You can search for any specific Constellations.
  88. * Calculate when the Jovian Red Spot is visible and watch the Red Spot on the 
  89.   face of Jupiter. You can adjust the value of the latitude of the Red Spot.
  90. * You can establish the dates of Lunar Eclipse and view the Moon in the shadow
  91.   of the Earth.
  92. * Real pictures of all Messier-nebulae instead of only a picture representing
  93.   the type.
  94. * Search all objects of the NGC Catalogue instead of only the first 100 in the
  95.   Light version.
  96. * High precision mode up to a few arc-seconds (see 0.99 additions).
  97. * Yale-database extended to magnitude 5 instead of 4 in the  Light version.
  98. * Reference Stars in the Zoom-window up to magnitude 7.
