pAControls
Use the arrow keys to move your vehicle and use Ctrl to fire. The game is automatically paused when the menu is opened or another application is used. Press Ctrl to un-pause the game.
The game controls can be changed with the Options - Change Keys menu command. The keys can be changed back to the original settings by the Options - Reset Keys menu command.
AVehicles
3 vehicles are available for selection - PREDATOR, PANTHER and SABRE.
Each differ in movement speed and missile reload speed.
PANTHER and SABRE become available at scores of 3000 & 6000 respectively.
PREDATOR has average movement speed and average reload speed. PANTHER has fast movement speed but slow reload speed. SABRE has slower movement speed but a fast reload speed.
BAOptions
Use the options menu to change the difficulty, change your vehicle or to turn the sound on or off.
Changes to difficulty or vehicle take effect from the next game.
The Options menu is also used to change the game type between Defender and Endurance. The current game will be exited when the game type is changed.
AGame:Endurance
Endurance challenges you to stay alive for as long as possible. You are given a single life - one direct hit and it's Game Over!
In addition, you are given a strict time limit in which to destroy the enemy tanks. Each tank you destroy will increase your time allowance. Run out of time, and you lose the game.
The 3 difficulty levels cause the game to start with more enemy tanks at higher speed and shot levels. In addition, higher levels give you a lower time allowance.
vAGamePlay
Each enemy tank destroyed adds points to your score. The points awarded depend on the level of the enemy tank. There are 5 different levels of enemy tank, each progressing in speed of movement and shot rate.
Beware of an additional enemy weapon - the Stealth TF destroyer. This is a heavily shielded stealth vehicle which will require many direct hits to destroy.
AGame:Defender
Defender pits you against an increasing army of enemy tanks. Defend the combat zone and destroy as many tanks as possible.
You begin with 3 lives and lose a life when you receive a direct hit. After being hit you will be invunerable for a short period of time - this is indicated by a flashing symbol under LIVES in the status panel.
Extra lives are awarded at every 3000 points.
