Press a key from A to Z (on condition the slot corresponding to this letter is free), or use the keys Ctrl+A to add an entry in the current page.
Then you will have the choice between an entry for a program (P), a document (D), a folder (F), an OPO or EXE file (O) or a note (N).
If new applications have been installed on your drives, then tick the box "Rescan disks for new applications", this will update the database when you press the "Program" (P) button.
A dialog box will ask you the file name, the location of the file and the display name you want to see in MenuS5.
Now just press the key, or corresponding title, you have setup and the program or document will be run.
Modify
To modify an entry in the current page, use the keys Ctrl+M
Delete
To delete an entry in the current page, use the keys Ctrl+S
Notes atached to this entry will be also deleted.
Function Ctrl+V allows to move an entry to a different slot of the same page or to another page
Add .OPO/.EXE
When you add a program, this one is located, in general, in the system\apps folder and MenuS5 is able to find it easily, but if you want to add a program which is .OPO or .EXE and located in a different folder the use this function.
Attention, a lot of .OPO files are macros and don't run in stand alone mode.
You can use this function also for .APP files which are not located in the System\Apps folder or for .EXE file which are normally located in the System\Programs folder.
For .EXE file, it is also possible to add a parameter (switch) when running it (please read the respective documentation of each exe file on how to use parameters).
New document
This function (Ctrl+C), allows you to create new documents directly from MenuS5, for applications which allow the creation of new files, and if you want, to add directly an entry in MenuS5. This new document can then be loaded.
If new applications have been installed on your drives, then tick the box "Rescan disks", this will update the database.
EDKnown problems
Links to folders will not work correctly, if the "Open multiple files" option of your machine is set to "Enter". So you need to set this option to "Fn+Enter" (in the system screen, "Menu", "Tools", "Preferences").
If you install MenuS5 on drive D, the creation of databases could be longer.
MenuS5 is not able to run all the kinds of documents present on your machine.
A document is, in general, linked with the application which has created it, but sometimes, it is impossible to find this link, if this happens, an error message "not supported" will be displayed by the system screen.
Some applications are part of the list of applications which are able to create new documents, but this is not true in all cases, and if you add the entry in MenuS5 and try to run it, you will get an error message. Those programs have been setup with this function for other reasons. Don't blame MenuS5 for that.
If you have choosen RMRText for .TXT files, you won't be able to run more than one document at a time. Close the first one which is open in RMRText, then run the second one.
MenuS5
MenuS5 is available in french, italian, german and english.
MenuS5 allows you to setup 260 keys per file to run your favourite applications, documents or folders by pressing a simple key (A to Z).
Your programs so organised are easily accessible, no need to search in the Extra bar anymore where the programs are moving each time you add one.
MenuS5 is divided in 10 screens in order to create categories that you can rename as you want.
MenuS5 can have links to HTML, JPG, GIF, ZIP, TIFF, BMP, TXT and MBM files, but only if you have installed the Web Browser or Opera, RMRZip or Navigator, RMRText, Text Converter or Editor and RMRArt, MBMView or MBMUtils (MenuS5 has been set to work correctly with MBMView version 4.0).

COverview
Once you have run an application or document, MenuS5 will be sent to the background and the application or document will run in foreground, you can then press the hotkey to recall MenuS5 to foreground.
You can also press Ctrl+Space for the task cycling, which will cycle through open applications or documents, works as ALT+TAB under Windows (this function can be disabled, see Preferences).
When MenuS5 is recalled, if you run a program which has not been closed, this program will not be run again, but just put in foreground.
When a program opened by MenuS5 is closed, MenuS5 will come to foreground automatically after a little time (this function can be disabled, see Preferences).
When the Psion is switched ON, and MenuS5 is running, it will come to foreground automatically (this function can be disabled, see Preferences).
A warning message will inform you if the batteries are low or need replacing each time MenuS5 comes to the foreground.

- Task cycling
By pressing the keys Ctrl+Space this function lets you navigate through opened applications and then put the one you want in foreground, this works as ALT+TAB under Windows (it is an external program which does this, thats why you will see in the Task list screen, a line containing the file Menusw.opo)
- Display day and week number
If ticked, the day and week number will be display in the main screen.
- Display toolbar at startup
If ticked, the toolbar (CTRL+U) will be automaticaly displayed at startup.
- ZIP file choice
This option will be displayed only if the program Navigator and/or RMRZip is installed on your machine and lets you then choose one of those two programs as the default for opening the ZIP files.
- TXT file choice
This option will be displayed only if the program RMRText and/or TextCV and/or Editor is installed on your machine and lets you then choose one of those two programs as the default for opening the .TXT files. If not the internal editor will be used.
- Choose MBM
This option will be displayed only if the program RMRArt and/or MBMView and/or MbmUtils is installed on your machine and lets you then choose one of those two programs as the default for opening the MBM files.

You will be able to use keys for calling back MenuS5 from any screen.
Two options are possible: Different, only one.
Different:
A different hotkey can be chosen for each different page.
Only one:
An unique hotkey, then the current page will be used when program comes to foreground.

This function enable to close all opened applications including MenuS5 if a specific program is launched from MenuS5 (eg: CheckDisk, DiskEditor, Optimize or SmartFormat and also a backup program like SBU, Backup or FlashBack.
Text editor
The function Ctrl+T (or press on the Cut/Copy/P
aste function on the left of your machine), allows you to edit an existing text file (.TXT) or create a new one.
There is an eastern egg hidden in this function (see what's new in version 1.5)
File manager
Function Ctrl+J will open a little file manager.
Ascii table
Function Ctrl+Q will display an Ascii table giving the decimal and hexadecimal code of characters. Use keyboard including arrows to navigate.
Screen cleaner
Function CTRL+B will display a locked screen on which you will be able to clean it without shutting down your machine.
MBM viewer
Function Ctrl+I allows to view MBM pictures.
Alarm
Function Ctrl+Y allows to set the different alarms of the Time application, without running it.

Questa funzione (Ctrl+X), canceller
tutte le voci dalla pagina attuale, lasciandola completamente bianca.

i collegamenti su tutte le pagine reinizializzando Menus5.

Premete un tasto da A a Z (sempre che la relativa casella sia vuota) o usate la combinazione Ctrl+A per aggiungere una voce alla pagina corrente.
Avrete quindi la scelta tra inserire un programma (P), un documento (D), una cartella (F), un file OPO o EXE (O) o una nota (N).
Se avete installato dei nuovi programmi, attivate la funzione "Esamina dischi per nuovi programmi": questo aggiorner
il database se premete il tasto Programma (P).
Una finestra di inserimento vi richieder
il nome del file e il nome che volete che compaia nel display di Menus5.
Premete ora il tasto che avete impostato, o il corrispondente titolo, e il programma o il documento verranno aperti.
Modifica
Per modificare una voce nella pagina corrente utilizzate i tasti Ctrl+M
Cancella
Per cancellare una voce nella pagina corrente utilizzate i tasti Ctrl+S
In questo modo verranno cancellate anche le Note collegate a questa voce.
Muovi
La funzione Ctrl+V permette di spostare una voce in un'altra casella della pagina attuale o di un'altra pagina.
Aggiungi .OPO/.EXE
Quando installate un programma, questo di solito si carica nella cartella system\Apps e MenuS5 non ha problemi a trovarlo, ma se aggiungete un programma .OPO o .EXE questo pu
installarsi in una cartella qualsiasi: in questo caso
meglio usare questa funzione.
Attenzione, molti files .OPO sono delle macro, e non possono essere avviate direttamente.
Potete usare questa funzione anche per programmi che non siano installati nella cartella System\Apps o per files .EXE che di solito si installano nella cartella System\Programs.
Per i files .EXE
anche possibile aggiungere un parametro (comando) quando li avviate (per favore consultate la relativa documentazione per ciascun file.EXE).

Questa funzione (Ctrl+C), vi consente di creare nuovi documenti direttamente da Menus5 per quei programmi che consentono la creazione di nuovi documenti, e, se volete, di aggiungere la relativa voce direttamente in Menus5. Dopo di ci

Se installate Menus5 sul drive D, la creazione dei database potrebbe richiedere pi

Menus5 non
in grado di aprire tutti i documenti che avete sulla vostra macchina. In genere un documento
collegato al programma che lo ha creato, ma a volte non
possibile trovare questo collegamento:
quando questo accade compare nello schermo sistema un messaggio "Non supportato".
Alcune applicazioni, pur facendo parte della lista di quelle che consentono la creazione di nuovi documenti, non sempre operano in questo modo, e se in questi casi cercate di aggiungere una nuova voce e di avviarla da Menus5 otterrete un messaggio di errore. La colpa
comunque del programma e non dio Menus5.
Se avete scelto RMRText come editor dei files ,TXT, non sarete in gradi di aprire pi
di un documento alla volta.
Se ne volete aprire un secondo dovete prima chiudere il primo.

Per quanto concerne Revo, netBook and Series7, ovviamente non tenete conto delle informazioni che riguardano la retroilluminazione e che sono

MenuS5 vi consente di impostare fino a 260 tasti (390 Series7/netbook e 182 Revo) per file per aprire programmi, documenti o cartelle premendo un semplice tasto (A to Z).

Quando avete avviato un programma o aperto un documento, MenuS5 ritorner
in secondo piano mentre in primo piano verranno portati l'applicazione o il programma stessi, e potrete premere i tasti (hotkey) per riportare Menus5 in primo piano.
Potete anche premere Ctrl+Spazio per passare da un programma aperto all'altro cos
come fareste con ALT+TAB in Windows (questa funzione pu
essere disabilitata - vedi Preferenze).
Quando richiamate MenuS5, se avviate un programma che non
stato chiuso il programma non verr
nuovamente avviato, ma semplicemente portato in primo piano.
Quando chiudete un programma aperto con
Menus5, questo torner
in primo piano automaticamente dopo qualche momento (anche questa funzione pu
essere disabilitata - vedi Preferenze).
Quando lo Psion viene acceso e Menus5

Un messaggio di avvertimento vi segnaler
un livello di carica troppo basso delle batterie ogni volta che Menus5 viene portato in primo piano.

Questa funzione, se attivata, vi permette di scegliere se volete che Menus5 torni automaticamente in primo piano quando si chiude un programma o un documento aperto da Menus5.

Premendo i tasti Ctrl+Spazio questa funzione vi consente di navigare fra tutti i programmi aperti e portare in primo piano quello che volete; questo funziona come ALT+TAB sotto Windows (la funzione
fornita da un programma esterno, ed
per quello che nella lista dei programmi aperti da sistema trovate anche un programma Menusw.opo).
