  1. MENUS5 - Launcher (version 2.5)

  4. The file "MenuS5.zip" contains the installation files for the
  5. Series5/5mx or MC218 machine.
  6. The file "MenuS5R.zip" contains the installation files for the
  7. Revo machine.
  8. The file "MenuS5s7.zip" contains the installation files for the
  9. Series7 and netBook machines.

  11. Regarding the Revo, netBook and Series7, please do not take
  12. care about all informations concerning the backlight which
  13. are mentioned in this file.

  17. moving each time you add a new one) ? Then use MenuS5 !

  25. What's new in version 2.5
  26. - Complete modification of the hotkeys function. Now you can select
  27.   the combinaison of keys you want (not only CTRL+FN+key, but also
  28.   silkscreen buttons) to call back the program (the "other" hotkey
  29.   function has been removed, because of this modification).
  30. - Corrected a little problem with PDF files if used with PDF+.
  31. - Modification of the Julian function, now you can select as input
  32.   the date or the Julian for calculating.
  33. - Modification of the "Exit" function, now you can disable the "Backup"
  34.   dialog box when exiting the program. To re-activate, an entry in the
  35.   menu has been added.

  38. - Creation of an Italian version (thanks to Paolo Esini).

  42. - Creation of a German version. Use of a ".RSC" file (A special thanks to
  43.   Fredy Ott for the German translation).
  44. - Add a command history (accessible by pressing the "TAB" button or
  45.   clicking on the name of the page (bottom-right of the screen).
  46. - Add in the "battery" function the percentage.
  47. - Modification in the "alarm" function of the time format: now the
  48.   format (12 or 24) is as defined in the "system" screen.
  49. - The "system information" screen is automaticaly closed after some seconds.

  52. What's new in version  2.2
  53. - Added in "Preferences" a special function which enable to close
  54.   all applications including MenuS5 if a specific program
  55.   (eg: Checkdisk, DiskEditor, Optimize, SmartFormat or a backup
  56.   program like SBU, Backup or FlashBack) is run from MenuS5.
  57. - The left silkscreen button "Infrared" has been changed with a
  58.   function which let configure the Remote link as the system screen
  59.   does (whith the baud rate). The Link button on the toolbar has not
  60.   been changed and works as before.
  61. - Use of the new version of the Systinfo.opx and Sysram1.opx to be
  62.   more compatible.

  65. What's new in version 2.1
  66. - Added a new shortcut (hotkey) for calling to foreground MenuS5.
  67.   It is possible to set the silkbutton "Extras" or CTRL+"Extras"
  68.   (see "Preferences").
  69. - Added in the choice of the text editor (for the files .TXT),
  70.   the program "Editor" (if installed) from Symbian.
  71.   A great editor, in my humble opinion.
  72. - If Opera (the web browser) is installed, HTML documents can be
  73.   run with it, else the default browser will be used.
  74. - PDF (Portable Document Format) documents are now recognized
  75.   if the program "Pdf" is installed.
  76. - Corrected a little highlight problem when changing pages if
  77.   done by double-clicking.
  78. - If changes have been done in the configuration, a control has
  79.   been add when exiting the program asking for a backup.

  81. What's new in version 2.0
  82. - Added a "Create new file" function. Now MenuS5 is able to create
  83.   as many files as you want, so you are not any more limited to
  84.   260 entries, but only by the free space on disks.
  85.   The new file which is created, could be empty or based on an
  86.   existing file (model), you select the links you want to keep in
  87.   the new file.
  88. - Added an "Open file" function.
  89. - Added a "Delete file" function.
  90. - The "Save/Restore" function has been modified to backup and restore all
  91.   the files which have been created.
  92. - Added a "Sounds settings" function, (the "close button" in the toolbar
  93.   has been replaced with this function).
  94. - Added a "MBM" viewer.
  95. - For changing pages, the shortcut (up and down arrows) has been changed with
  96.   CTRL+UP and CTRL+DOWN arrows.
  97. - UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT arrows can be used now to navigate in pages,
  98.   then press the "ENTER" key for running the link.
  99. - The creation date of a "note" is now stored. When modifying a note both
  100.   dates are displayed.
  101. - If a link does not exist anymore, choice is offered to delete or modify
  102.   the link (before it was automaticaly deleted), excepted when using the
  103.   "run all program on page" function).
  104. - Corrected a little problem with the "Remote link", "Infrared" and
  105.   "Control Panel" in the REVO version (other machines are not concerned).
  106. - Some cosmetics changes (some shortcuts have been changed, the menu and
  107.   toolbar also). Now CTRL+U toogle the toolbar.

  110. - Added a "Note" function which allow to takes little notes
  111.   up to 1000 characters and linking them directly on pages
  112.   of the menu.
  113. - Added link to TIFF and BMP files if MBMViev is installed.
  114. - Correction of a little problem when running the new version
  115.   of TomeRaider (Tr2).
  116. - Now able to link and run ".EXE" files with or without commands
  117.   (parameters or switchs).
  118. - "Calendar" function has been modified allowing now the possibility
  119.   to add directly in the Agenda the day or Julian number.

  228. Welcome to MenuS5, applications and documents launcher for the EPOC
  229. Series of handheld computers.
  230. MenuS5 contains a lot of other utilities.

  232. FILE DETAILS

  234. The archive file should contain the following files:

  248. Once installed. you will see the program consists of the following

  260. The five OPX files will be installed in the \System\Opx folder

  262. INSTALLATION
  263. ------------
  264. The program can be installed in english or in french.
  265. To install the program simply double-click on the Menus5.sis file
  266. or select the "Install New Program" option in PsiWin (EPOC Install).
  267. If you have PsiWin/EPOC Install v2.1 or above, then everything will
  268. happen automatically. If you have an earlier version, you will need
  269. to get the installation file SETUP.EXE, which can be downloaded from
  270. the Psion Home Page (http://www.psion.com).
  271. To install directly on a EPOC Machine, tap the .sis file to install,
  272. if this does not work then you do not have the Add/Remove utility,
  273. in this case download INSTEXE.EXE from the Psion Home Page
  274. (http://www.psion.com) and copy it to your machine and try again.

  276. RUNNING THE PROGRAM
  277. -------------------
  278. Start the program by selecting 'Extras' from the Application bar
  279. and then selecting Menus5.
