  21. If your computer has multiple user accounts, you'll need to install 
  22. and run Quilt Design Wizard with administrator or power user privileges.

  25. IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTES
  26. ----------------------------
  27. You will need to choose a destination location for the installation 
  28. of Quilt Design Wizard. The default path is 
  29. C:\Program Files\Electric Quilt Company\Quilt Design Wizard\
  30.  
  31. If you like, you can change the default location to install to a different 
  32. location, but Quilt Design Wizard must be installed into a folder. Be 
  33. sure to type a folder name along with the drive letter. For example, 
  34. use ôD:\QDW\ö and NOT ôD:ö or you will have files sprinkled on the root 
  35. of drive ôDö and that will cause program problems.

  38. STARTING THE INSTALLATION

  40. The standard installation should automatically start when you place 
  41. the CD in the drive. If for any reason the installation does not start, 
  42. double-click on the Setup.exe file found on the CD.

  45. ABOUT UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING QUILT DESIGN WIZARD

  47. If you uninstall Quilt Design Wizard, your project files will not be 
  48. deleted. The Favorites files do get deleted when you uninstall.

  50. If you need to reinstall Quilt Design Wizard, your project files and 
  51. Favorites files will not be overwritten or deleted.

  54. ABOUT THE QUILT DESIGN WIZARD HELP
  55. ----------------------------------
  56. Quilt Design Wizard HTML Help uses a Help Viewer. This viewer uses the 
  57. underlying component of Microsoft Internet Explorer to display help 
  58. content in HTML format. To display the help in Quilt Design Wizard, you 
  59. must have Internet Explorer 5.01 or later.

  62. ABOUT THE HELP VIDEOS
  63. ---------------------
  64. The videos included with Quilt Design Wizard should have audio. You may
  65. need to adjust the volume of your speakers when playing the videos to
  66. hear them.

  68. If you experience any difficulties using the videos, you may need to 
  69. install the latest version of the Windows Media Player that is available 
  70. free over the Internet. Windows Media Player may need to be set as the 
  71. default player for .AVI video files.

  73. If you can hear the videos but you canÆt see them, try clicking the Pause
  74. button and then the Play button. If you still canÆt see the videos, 
  75. complete the following steps:
  76. 1. Put the Quilt Design Wizard CD in your CD-ROM drive. If it automatically
  77. starts a new installation, cancel that installation.
  78. 2. Double-click on My Computer.
  79. 3. Right-click on the CD-ROM drive.
  80. 4. Click Open. You should see a list of files.
  81. 5. Double-click on TSCC.EXE and install it.

  84. FOR SCREEN PROBLEMS

  86. If you experience unnecessary lines on your screen (garbage-like lines), 
  87. try the following steps to clear the display. 1. Click Start. 2. Point 
  88. to Settings. (XP users skip this step.) 3. Click Control Panel. 
  89. 4. Double-click the Display icon. 5. Click the Settings tab. 
  90. 6. Click the Advanced button. 7. Click the Performance tab. (In XP 
  91. this tab is called Troubleshoot.) 8. Move the slider bar for hardware 
  92. acceleration down from full. Try each of the different settings 
  93. to see which one works best for you. 9. Click the Apply button. 
  94. 10. Click OK on all the dialogs and close the Control Panel.
