You should find a wealth of goodies here to enhance your Bryce
experience.
Chapter Info has the tutorial scenes for the book, plus lots of the
scene files for the printed figures, and auxilary scenes and slide shows
as well.
Gallery contains the Bryce work of over 80 Bryce artists world wide.
Portfolio contains my images and some scenes as well. Be sure to check
out the "Slide Show" slide show!
**NOTE about the scenes in the Gallery and Portfolio folders. Open them up,
take a peek, learn from the artist about the Bryce construction methods. . .
even create a materials preset. But the scenes as a whole and the image
belongs to the person who created it. Do not use the scene as a whole.
Please respect the generous persons who made scene files available for
the learning benefit of Brycers everywhere! Thanks!
Tips contains various tips about Bryce or relating to Bryce written by
different contributors. They are in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. (An
Acrobat Reader installer is included elsewhere on the CD-ROM.)
Models contains some 3D DXF models from other sources. Check 'em out!
Goodies contains some image resources. From MetaTools, there is a
sampling of the MetaPhotos collection by MetaTools. From Direct
Imagination, there is an Adobe Acrobat demo of The Grammar of Ornament,
an excellent resource for decoration and patterns collected from
history.
DEM Info has some sample Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) and tips for
finding more of them and using them.
Software Here is where you'll find software for accessing the other
things on this CD-ROM, and to try out software that complements Bryce.
Planetary Traveler See a trailer for the home-video production that
was the first full-length computer animation motion picture produced
entirely on desktop MacOS machines using a special in-development
animation version of Bryce. (Yes, I worked on it, too!)
Bryce Utilities Presets, Materials, Picture Terrains, and other
goodies
What's Wrong With This Picture? This is an Adobe Acrobat version of a
chapter that was printed in the first edition of this book. It's a
description of some common pitfalls to scene-making, and how to fix
them. Before and After scene files are included, too.
In addition to all the things here, visit my web site at
http://www.auntialias.com/
I have a launching pad page that takes you to other places on the Web for
Bryce-related matters.
If you want to engage in discussions with other Bryce artists, there are
two good places to visit:
--If you're on America Online, keyword "kpt" takes you to the MetaTools
area. There is an active and informative discussion of all matters Bryce
there.
--MetaTools runs an internet listserv discussion group. It covers all
MetaTools products, but the Bryce discussion is quite active. To sign up
for the list, visit the MetaTools website Mailing List page at:
http://www.metatools.com/mailinglists.html
If you have any feedback about the book and/or CD-ROM, visit my website
and post a note there, or send me email: susan@auntialias.com
