Sorry Quartet will not operate under operating systems prior to RISC-OS.
Usage:
Clicking select on the "Quartet" icon opens the game window. The game is
started by clicking any button within this window. If the pointer leaves the
game window the game is paused and may be continued by clicking any button
within the window.
Game:
The aim of the game is to pack falling shapes in a bin. Each shape is made
up from 4 cubes, they fall from the top of the screen and may be moved left,
right and rotated. When one piece has landed the next will start to fall. If
any row across the bin has cubes in every position then that row is complete
and is cleared, giving more room in the bin. The game ends when a piece
lands partly or completely outside of the bin.
Score:
You score, for each piece dropped depending on the shape of the piece and
a bonus of 10 points is given for each row cleared. The number of pieces and
the number of rows cleared are also displayed. High Scores are displayed in
grey beneath your actual scores. The author's high score is 3500.
Keys:
select (left mouse button) --- move piece left
adjust (right mouse button) --- move piece right
menu (middle mouse button) --- rotate piece clockwise
space bar --- drop the piece (to save time)
