  1. MATCHING ACCURACY TEST (NUMBERS)
  2. Most office work in the 1930s con-
  3. sisted of paper shuffling and was
  4. largely done by hand. Seeing a need
  5. to evaluate how well a potential
  6. office worker could shuffle papers,
  7. the Psychological Corporation deve-
  8. loped a series of tests. These tests
  9. still enjoy widespread use in busi-
  10. ness, industry, and schools. They
  11. give insight into a very basic func-
  12. tioning of the brain. The following
  13. test is built on this concept: how
  14. well and quickly you can compare
  15. sets of numbered pairs.

  19. INSTRUCTIONS: You will be asked to
  20. compare 100 pairs of numbers. If the
  21. two numbers in a pair are exactly
  22. the same, press Y. If they are
  23. different, press N. You have three
  24. and a half minutes to complete the
  25. test so work as quickly as you can.
