- A formal Will is a set of written instructions by which a person communicates
- how their property shall be disposed of after his or her death. One who
- writes a Will is said to be a testator or a testatrix if the person is
- female. In the case of death where a Will has been created, that person is
- said to die testate. In the absence of a Will a person dies intestate. A
- designee instructed to handle the affairs of the estate is an executor or an
- executrix. A Will or any part thereof may be revoked or altered by a
- subsequent written Will, Codicil or other writing declaring such revocation
- or alteration provided that the same formalities required for the execution
- of Wills under this law are observed in the execution of such Will, Codicil
- or other writing.
