  85.                              USER SUPPORTED SOFTWARE

  88.      The user-supported software concept (usually referred to as SHAREWARE)
  89.      is  an attempt to  provide quality software  at low cost.  The cost of
  90.      offering  a new product by conventional means is staggering, and hence
  91.      dissuades many independent authors and small companies from developing
  92.      and promoting  their  ideas and  satisfying  new market  niches.  User
  93.      supported software is an  attempt to develop a new  marketing channel,
  94.      where products can be introduced at low cost.

  96.      If user-supported software works, then everyone will benefit. The user
  97.      will  benefit by receiving quality products  at low cost, and by being
  98.      able to  "test drive"  software thoroughly  before purchasing  it. The
  99.      author benefits by being  able to enter the commercial  software arena
  100.      without first needing large sources of venture capital.

  102.      But it can only work with your support. If you find that you are still
  103.      using Q&A  Study Aid  after a  couple of weeks,  then obviously  it is
  104.      worth something to you, and you should register.
