  1.              THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANTS

  3.     The grasshopper was happpy and content as he sat and
  4. sang on a leaf. He could not understand why the ants worked
  5. so hard, even in summer. "Carrying grain in this heat! How
  6. crazy!"
  7.     Time passed and winter arrived. One day the hungry
  8. grasshopper came to the ants while they were drying their
  9. grain in the sun.
  10.    "Will you give me some of your grain? You have so much!"
  11.    "But why didn't you put some away last summer?"
  12. they replied.
  13.    "I didn't have time," answered the grasshopper. "I had
  14. to sing."

  16.    "If you sang in the summer, then you can dance in
  17. winter!"  said the ants,laughing.
