  6.                Unlike  the  earliest  versions,  PrintGal now
  7. reads all information for an art gallery into memory at once.
  8. The absolute  maximum number of  graphics it can  hold at one
  9. time is 1,000. The practical limit seems to be about 800 on a
  10. machine with  640K of memory.  Although PrintGal is  now much
  11. more advanced, it  is far from perfect. If  you are loading a
  12. file and PrintGal runs out of memory, the program will simply
  13. abort.  This isn't  serious since  you probably  won't want a
  14. gallery to contain that many graphics anyway.

  16.                Disk  access is  much faster  than before.  In
  17. prior versions of PrintGal the  conversion process took a lot
  18. of time  simply because Turbo reads  files slowly. I accessed
  19. DOS directly for reading and  writing graphics shapes and was
  20. shocked by  the speed difference.  This version is  about ten
  21. times faster than the old.

  23.                PrintGal  is  capable   of  reading,  writing,
  24. converting,   or   printing    galleries   from   NewsMaster,
  25. PrintMaster or PrintShop.  PrintMaster and PrintShop graphics
  26. are  identical, so  there  is  no problem  converting between
  27. them. However,  NewsMaster graphics may be  of variable sizes
  28. so the graphics  must be converted to be  used by PrintMaster
  29. or PrintShop.

  31.                Files may  be merged by loading  more than one
  32. into memory at  a time. When files are  merged, PrintGal only
  33. remembers the name of the last one loaded.
