  5. The FIRST diZk catalog and labeling system to  operate  under
  6. and with 4DOS.
  7.  
  8. One   day   I  was  reading  some  ECHO  Mail  messages about
  9. OMNIDiZk (The DOS DiZk cataloger and labeling system), one of
  10. the messages was from a user who asked  if  the  program  was
  11. 4DOS  compatible.  I said I did not know but I would check it
  12. out.  After spending some time checking out 4DOS and OMNIDiZk
  13. I realized that while the  programs  were  compatible,  there
  14. were functions in 4DOS that did not exist in regular DOS. So,
  15. with  keyboard  in  hand I rewrote OMNIDiZk into a completely
  16. new program: DiZk4D.
  17.                           Features
  18.  
  19.         *Read a floppy into memory and let you save the  data
  20. (The saving is optional).
  21.         *Let  you  enter  a  21 character title, 4 digit DiZk
  22. number, 3 character code and two lines of remarks  up  to  65
  23. characters each.
  24.         *Let you change or add file descriptions.   You  have
  25. the  option  of  using the same description for all files, or
  26. describing them individually using a full screen editor.
  27.         *Print out 4 X 1 7/16, 1 15/16 X 2 3/4, or 3 X  15/16
  28. labels of the file names.
  29.         *Print  out 4 X 1 7/16, 1 15/16 X 2 3/4, or 3 X 15/16
  30. labels of the file names and descriptions.
  31.         *Print out or write to  a  file  complete  or  select
  32. listings and catalogs.
  33.         *Print  out  a complete list of all file information,
  34. or write that information to a file.
  35.         *Perform   Find!   searches    on    any    filename,
  36. description,  date,  title, DiZk number (alphanumeric), code,
  37. or remarks.
  38.         *Allow complete Updates  of  DiZks  or  of  just  the
  39. title info.
  40.         *Let you set the printer codes to match your printer.
  41.         *Let  you  set  up  the  colours, and select data and
  42. read drive.
  43.         *Let you use Auto numbering of DiZks.
  44.         *Creates a dBase compatable file with filenames in it.
  45.         *Swaps  program to Extended or Expanded Memory, or to
  46. DiZk (User Defined).

  50.         *Fixed A Bug In The Update Mode
  51.         *File  Structure  changed  to  make  the  system  23%
  52. faster.{Based on tests done with an 8088 using a data file of
  53. 100 DiZks.}

  55.         *Upgrade from previous versions to 2.71 added.
  56.         *Data file now fully relational.
  57.         *DiZk Swaping Added reducing RAM requirment by 258K.
  58.         *Added  compatibility  utility  program  for users of
  59. QEMM and other extended memory managers.

  61. There  are  no  'crippled'  features  or  options.   The only
  62. difference between the shareware and registered  versions  is
  63. the  lack of 'plea' screens on the registered version and the
  64. clarity of the Users conscience.
