  2. CT-Shell v1.0 is a DOS shell for Microsoft Windows 3.  It brings the
  3. functionality of traditional DOS shells (manipulating tagged files,
  4. system information, launching programs with a menu interface, etc.) to
  5. Windows, making it a better environment for many people to work in.

  7. It was originally conceived as a programmer's shell, and it excells at
  8. that task.  In fact, CT-Shell itself was built by running Microsoft
  9. C6.00A, CodeView for Windows, and all the SDK programming utilities
  10. from CT-Shell, with the development done entirely within Windows!
  11. Non-programmers, however, have as much reason to like CT-Shell as
  12. programmers do.

  14. CT-Shell provides a better-than-DOS command line, with command recall,
  15. and handles most of the common DOS commands internally, so you don't
  16. need to start a DOS session to use them.  Many DOS commands are
  17. enhanced, and some powerful new CT-Shell commands are added.
