Basic exercises for guitarists

1. Gymnastics
The four fingers of the left hand are brought in basic position on the g-string:

Now each finger should be pulled off as high as possible and put on the board
again *without* moving another finger lying on the string! Beginners should
start this exercise on higher frets to avoid too much stretching of the
fingers.

Use different chords on the left hand (e.g. C Am F G7 C :!!). Start slowly,
keeping care that each tone is loud and clearly. Increase speed slowly always
taking care for a proper tone and sound!
6. Lefthand exercise (beginners shouldn't practise this one!!!)

This one is very efficient, but dangerous. *Never* exercise for more than
5 minutes a day! Beginners shouldn't try this one as it causes very high
tension for the left hand esp. when playing classical guitars types.
Newcomers to this one should exercise this on higher frets than scored.
Use a capo!
