  2. Welcome to SirlinVIEW/Lite!

  5. DESCRIPTION
  6.      SirlinVIEW/Lite is an AutoCAD drawing file viewer. The
  7.      drawing file name must be specified on the DOS command
  8.      line. The initial view is the drawing's extents. You can
  9.      pan and zoom using the keyboard or mouse.
  10.  
  11.      This is a Shareware program. If you use it, please
  12.      register with us. 
  13.  
  14.      Sirlin Computer also offers other more advanced products.
  15.      Some of them are described at the end of this file.

  18. COMMAND-LINE USAGE
  19.      svdwg [options] [file.DWG]
  20. Options:
  21.      -NOEMS          Disable use of Expanded memory
  22.      -NOXMS          Disable use of Extended memory
  23.      -PAPER          Force paper space view
  24.      -MODEL          Force model space view
  25.      -D?             Select video display mode
  26.      -I?             Select input device

  29. AUXILIARY FILES
  30.      The SirlinVIEW program needs several auxiliary system
  31.      files to run properly. Normally, these files reside in
  32.      the same directory as the program itself. These system
  33.      files will be found if (a) the program directory is
  34.      listed in the "PATH=" environment variable, or (b) the
  35.      "SIRLIN=" environment variable is defined to point to the
  36.      program directory.

  38.      AutoCAD drawing files sometimes reference external files
  39.      for shapes (text fonts) and external drawing files
  40.      (Xrefs). The program will search for these files, first
  41.      in the same directory as the drawing being viewed, and
  42.      then in the path(s) defined in the "ACAD=" environment
  43.      variable.

  46. KEYBOARD AND MOUSE COMMANDS

  48. Use the mouse or keyboard to select functions.

  52. +, -                 To zoom in and out, press the + or -
  53.                      control buttons or keys to zoom in or out.
  54.  
  55. W (Zoom Window)      To zoom to a selected area of the drawing
  56.                      using the directional keys to move and
  57.                      size the window, or use the mouse to
  58.                      select the area to zoom.
  59.  
  60. Arrow keys           Use the arrow control buttons or
  61.                      directional keys to pan around the
  62.                      drawing. 
  63.  
  64. E (Extents)          Zoom to the drawing's extents.
  65.  
  66. O (Options)          Select viewing options.
  67.  
  68. Q (Quit)             Exit the program.

  70. ?                    Display help.

  73. VIEW OPTIONS
  74.  
  75. The following options are available in the View Options dialog
  76. box. When the Ballot Box is marked (filled in), the option is
  77. selected; when it is empty, the option is disabled.
  78.  
  79. GREEK SMALL TEXT     When selected, text which is too small to
  80.                      read will be displayed as a line. When
  81.                      disabled, all text will be drawn. 
  82.                      ON = fastest redraws.
  83.  
  84. SHOW ATTRIBUTES      When selected, visible Block Attributes
  85.                      will be displayed. When disabled, they
  86.                      will not.
  87.                      OFF = fastest redraws.
  88.  
  89. HIDE FROZEN LAYERS   When selected, frozen layers are not shown
  90.                      on the screen. When disabled, frozen
  91.                      layers will be visible (if they are not
  92.                      hidden).
  93.                      ON = fastest redraws.
  94.  
  95. FILL                 When selected, area fills will be drawn
  96.                      (like in wide polylines). When disabled,
  97.                      only the area outline is drawn.
  98.                      OFF = fastest redraws.
  99.  
  100. WIDTH                When selected, wide polylines will be
  101.                      drawn. When disabled, all polylines will
  102.                      be drawn single width.
  103.                      OFF = fastest redraws.
  104.  
  105. LINE STYLES          When selected, dash patterns will be
  106.                      drawn. When disabled, all lines will be
  107.                      drawn solid.
  108.                      OFF = fastest redraws.
  109.  
  110. FLATLAND             When selected, all 3D information is
  111.                      ignored. When disabled, 3D views and
  112.                      objects are rendered correctly. 
  113.                      ON = fastest redraws.
  114.  
  115.                      When a drawing is loaded, SirlinVIEW
  116.                      detects whether the drawing contains 3D
  117.                      objects and automatically sets the
  118.                      FLATLAND accordingly.

  144. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  145.      Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try
  146.      software before buying it. If you try a Shareware program
  147.      and continue using it, you are expected to register.
  148.      Individual programs differ on details -- some request
  149.      registration while others require it, some specify a
  150.      maximum trial period. With registration, you get anything
  151.      from the simple right to continue using the software to
  152.      an updated program with printed manual.

  156.      with a few specific exceptions as stated below. Shareware

  186.      SirlinVIEW/Lite is a "shareware program" and is provided
  187.      at no charge to the user for evaluation. Feel free to
  188.      share it with your friends, but please do not give it
  189.      away altered or as part of another system. The essence of
  190.      "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer
  191.      users with quality software without high prices, and yet
  192.      to provide incentive for programmers to continue to
  193.      develop new products. If you find this program useful and
  194.      find that you are using SirlinVIEW/Lite and continue to
  195.      use SirlinVIEW/Lite after a reasonable trial period, you
  196.      must make a registration payment of $25 (USD) to Sirlin
  197.      Computer Corporation. The $25 registration fee will
  198.      license one copy for use on any one computer at any one
  199.      time. You must treat this software just like a book. An
  200.      example is that this software may be used by any number
  201.      of people and may be freely moved from one computer
  202.      location to another, so long as there is no possibility
  203.      of it being used at one location while it's being used at
  204.      another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different
  205.      persons at the same time.

  207.      Commercial users of SirlinVIEW/Lite must register and pay
  208.      for their copies of SirlinVIEW/Lite within 30 days of
  209.      first use or their license is withdrawn. Site-License
  210.      arrangements may be made by contacting Sirlin Computer
  211.      Corporation.

  213.      Anyone distributing SirlinVIEW/Lite for any kind of
  214.      remuneration must first contact Sirlin Computer
  215.      Corporation at the address below for authorization. This
  216.      authorization will be automatically granted to
  217.      distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its
  218.      guidelines for shareware distributors, and such
  219.      distributors may begin offering SirlinVIEW/Lite
  220.      immediately (However Sirlin Computer Corporation must
  221.      still be advised so that the distributor can be kept
  222.      up-to-date with the latest version of SirlinVIEW/Lite.).

  224.      You are encouraged to pass a copy of SirlinVIEW/Lite
  225.      along to your friends for evaluation. When you do, please
  226.      delete the registration file SVLITE.REG first. Please
  227.      encourage them to register their copy if they find that
  228.      they can use it. All registered users will receive a copy
  229.      of the latest version of the SirlinVIEW/Lite software.
