Introduction:
_____________
Quartus
_______
Quartus is Neal Bridgesæ project to give a real Forth design environment to the PalmPilot
community. You can find it, its history, as well as lateron the sources to this game via
http://www.interlog.com/~nbridges/quartus.html
Being a Forth old-timer myself (only if there is a Forth system available for it, it is a computer) I stumbled over NealÆs project and decided, for the first time in well over five years, to write code that exceeds the occasional "Hello World!" I normally hack up to check for the success of environment installations.
The Game of EisbΣr
__________________
The game was written and tested in two lazy afternoons to prove that it is an easy feat to hack
together something working real fast in Forth, care about the niceties, which I have to say, are
absolutely possible to implement using Quartus, later. So there are intentionally no fancy graphics, no buttons, only basic interfacing to the user and no sophisticated icon.
The objective of the game is to find the objective, i.e. the logic of the game. It is an old pub game, where normally one person in the know starts it up, preferably in a large, not too sober group. Then either the people one by one grasp what it is about and drag the last poor soul not getting it to the nearest asylum, or nobody else gets the knack and hence deliver the initiator of the game to said institution.
Installation and Gameplay
_________________________
Install the file Eisbaer.prc from this package to your PalmPilot or WorkPad device in the same way you usually install 3rd party applications.
To play, tap the applicationÆs icon in your favorite app launcher and follow the on-screen
instructions. If input other then screen taps is requested you should input digits in the number input field of the deviceÆs silk screen area. Each individual input, i.e. the figures you guessed, needs to be terminated by a Graffiti RETURN stroke.

Version Information
___________________
This is Version 0.9 and currently contains no bugs I know of.
Until the time Neal lets us in to his secrets on how to properly utilize PalmPilot resources, I took the liberty to tweak the icon a little bit using OnBoard's onboard resource editor.
