\<COLOUR 1> COMMENTS: \<COLOUR 0> The command and service modules (CSM) comprised the main part of the Apollo spacecraft; first tested in Earth orbit on Apollo 7, in October 1968, after undergoing extensive modifications following the tragic Apollo 1 training accident; Apollo CSMs were also used for transporting astronauts to Skylab in 1973 and for rendezvous with Soyuz on the ASTP mission in 1975.
