- The angle at which one plane is tilted to another. For example:
- (a) the inclination of a planetary ORBIT is normally taken to mean the angle between the plane of the ORBIT and the plane of the Earth's ORBIT.
- (b) equatorial inclination of a PLANET is the angle between the plane of its equator and its orbit plane.
- (c) the inclination of the ORBIT of an ARTIFICIAL SATELLITE is the angle at which its orbit plane intersects the plane of the equator.
