  9. Walnut Creek CDROM and Thomas Shaffer are proud to present The Space
  10. Shuttle Encyclopedia CDROM.
  11.  
  12. This CDROM was designed with education in mind.  My hopes for the
  13. CDROM are to provide those in the educational field easier access to
  14. Space Shuttle material.  I would like to hear from anyone that has
  15. used this CDROM in a educational environment and how it benefited you.
  16.  
  17. This CDROM was not only developed with education in mind, but also the
  18. frustration I faced while searching for materials pertaining to the
  19. Space Shuttle.  For anyone that is interested in the Space Shuttle or
  20. those just interested in the space program you will find that this CDROM
  21. provides a great wealth of information.

  23. This CDROM contains:
  24.  
  25. 3132  JPG files (640x480-256 Colors)
  26. 1900  Text Files (Both in plan ASCII text format and ZIP)
  27. 25+   Sounds Clips (WAV Format)
  28. Assorted Shuttle related MSDOS Applications
  29. Assorted Graphic Viewing Programs
  30.  
  31. All images & text files are directly from NASA public archives sites
  32. such as: spacelink.msfc.nasa.gov, explorer.arc.nasa.gov,
  33. images.jsc.nasa.gov, and gopher.gsfc.nasa.gov.
  34.  
  35. Each shuttle mission from STS-1 to STS-68 is represented with its own
  36. mission image directory.  Each directory contains a catalog of JPG's.
  37. Each JPG catalog file is labeled cat_*.JPG and contains up to 16
  38. thumb nail images from that directory.
  39.  
  40. Other categories on the disc include the 747 Shuttle Ferry, flight
  41. deck instrumentation panels, space shuttle main engines, and related
  42. images.
  43.  
  44. All directories contain files.bbs, 00_index.txt, descript.ion &
  45. wildcat.txt files to make the CDROM BBS ready. See \_bbs\readme.txt
  46. for more information.
