  4. Welcome to TANGAROOSs.  Thank you for evaluating this program.  I hope that
  5. you find TANGAROOs fun and easy to use.  Don't forget to read the files

  32. PURPOSE
  33.  
  34. TANGAROOs is an educational tool to help build skills in problem solving
  35. and spatial orientation.  This tool is based on the concept of tangram
  36. shapes.  The goal of this tool is to present you with a picture that you
  37. have to duplicate using the seven tangram shapes that are provided.  In
  38. addition, there is a Save Mode option that allows you to create your own
  39. pictures.  Please see "How to Use TANGAROOs" in the online help for
  40. additional information.

  42. THE MOUSE
  43.  
  44. In order to use TANGAROOs, it is NECESSARY to learn how to use the mouse.
  45. Although the menu items can be obtained from the keyboard, the shapes can
  46. only be manipulated with the mouse.  The following is a key to using the
  47. mouse within TANGAROOs (double clicking is not used):

  67.    Click Left Button w/ shift key       Colors all shpes on the screen to
  68.      down                                black

  74. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  75.  
  76. 1) You must be running Windows 3.1.
  77.  
  78. 2) You must use at least VGA mode (TANGAROOs has been tested to work well
  79.    in VGA, SuperVGA and XGA resolutions).
  80.  
  81. The above are the only requiremnets to use TANGAROOs.  In addition, you may
  82. want to load a Windows 3.1 sound driver to use the sounds within TANGAROOs.
  83. However, sound is NOT a requirement to using this program.

  85. INSTALLATION
  86.  
  87. You should have received TANGAROOs in a self-extracting archive file
  88. (TANGROO1.EXE).  To install the files on your computer, perform the
  89. following:
  90.  
  91. 1) At the DOS prompt, create a directory to hold the TANGAROO files.
  92.    For example:          MKDIR TANGAROO
  93.  
  94. 2) Change directories so that you are in the new directory.
  95.    For example:          CD \TANGAROO
  96.  
  97. 3) Execute the self-extracting archive file for TANGAROOs.
  98.    For example:          TANGROO1.EXE
  99.  
  100. At this point, the files listed earlier should be copied onto your
  101. harddisk.
  102.  
  103. 4) Start Windows
  104.    For example:          WIN
  105.  
  106. 5) To run TANGAROOs, pull down the File menu within Program Manager.
  107.    Select Run... and type in the name of the program.
  108.    For example:          TANGAROO.EXE
  109.  
  110.    If Windows reports that it cannot find the program, repeat step 5 and
  111. add
  112.    the name of the directory in front of the executable name.
  113.    For example:          C:\TANGAROO\TANGAROO.EXE
  114.  
  115. See you Window's documentation on how to create an icon to run TANGAROOs.

  117. That's all there is to installing TANGAROOs.  Remember that while TANGAROOs
  118. is running, you can get access to the online help by pressing the F1 key or
  119. using the Help menu.

  121. *** Shareware Evaluation Version ***
  122.  
  123. TANGAROOs is distributed as Shareware software.  This means that users are
  124. encouraged, subject to the restrictions described in the License Agreement,
  125. to share copies of this program with friends, associates, and bulletin
  126. boards.  Please remember that if you use TANGAROOs beyond the 30-day
  127. evaluation, you are required to pay the registration fee of $20 as
  128. described in LICENSE.DOC and ORDER.DOC.
