HOW TO USE THE DIRECTORIES IN Body_Bits
---------------------------------------
Blobbies
--------
Apologies to circumferentially challenged
persons and possibly the BBC. They are
closely related to stick-men and can be used
to teach students the basics of Art,
proportion and how limbs articulate. All
drawn by Chris Johnston, Edinburgh.
Dum_poses
---------
These are based on the anatomical
details of the skeletons, so you can be
guaranteed that joints appear at just the
correct place. They are more to ergonomics
than their blobby brothers! The main files to
start off with are "front-on" & "profile".
Other files show examples of various
positions (clean!).
Blobbies and dummies would make ideal
bit-part players in Tween, Movie-Maker and
Noot animations.
bones & skeletons
-----------------
No, this is not just an excuse to fill up the
disc with duplicates! When you save Drawfiles
on Draw their position, relative to the
bottom-left-hand (BLH) corner of the page, is
saved with them. Therefore if you want the
file to reappear where you drop its icon,
when loading in from a directory, you save
the file when it is sitting down at the BLH
corner. This we normally do for most graphics
i.e. the individual graphics do not join
together to form a larger entity like the
bones form a skeleton. Therefore if you load
the Body2 at the BLH corner, then the
skeleton or any of the bone groups at the
same place, they should sit inside at their
correct positions. Now if you did this the
former way, bones would appear where you drop
them but you would need to know where to put
them, so-to-speak!
On Vector the graphic always reappears where
you saved it and does not depend upon where
it is dropped.
