  1. This program is a Kawai K4 synthesizer patch editor.
  2. To use this program You need MS-Windows 3.1 or later
  3. and Windows multimedia MIDI driver. You can use this
  4. program as a genelar patch loader/librarian but most
  5. useful it is for Kawai K4 synthesizer.  This program
  6. is an update to previous version 3.01 (k4v301.zip).

  8. Your program disk should include following files:
  9.  
  10. K4.EXE            Patch editor program
  11. K4CALL.DLL        Library routines to handle asyncronous MIDI events.
  12. K4.HLP            Windows helpfile for program
  13. K4.INI            Initialisation file
  14. DRUM.DYN        TEN description files for different dialogs. These
  15. EFFECT.DYN        files are interpreted by K4.EXE and they should
  16. MULTI.DYN        be in same directory as K4.EXE.

  19. DCF.DYN
  20. SOURCES.DYN
  21. DCA.DYN

  27. To get started:

  29. Create a subdirectory for K4 under Your Windows directory (or where you like):
  30.  
  31.     MD  C:\WINDOWS\K4
  32.  
  33. Copy all files on the program diskette into You K4 directory:
  34.  
  35.     COPY  A:*.*  C:\WINDOWS\K4
  36.  
  37. Copy initialisation file into Your WINDOWS directory:

  39.     COPY  A:K4.INI   C:\WINDOWS
  40.  
  41. Start MS-Windows. Add K4 icon into one of Your Windows Application Groups (or possible MIDI apps group) and run K4.EXE.
