  1. Welcome to Strange Days, The Interactive Movie Trailer and screen saver CD-ROM for Windows.

  5. VIDEO AND AUDIO QUALITY:
  6.  
  7.    The video on this CD-ROM looks best when played back in thousands or millions of colors (greater than 8 bit) but will look and run fine in 256 colors. To change the setting of your video card, look for your video card utility, which is usually located in your "Control Panels" settings in the "Main" program group.

  9. INSTALLATION

  11. To install the Strange Days Interactive Movie Trailer:
  12.  
  13. 1. In Program Manager, choose "Run" under the file menu.
  14.  
  15. 2. Type "D:Install" where "D:" is the letter of your CD-ROM drive.
  16.  
  17. 3. Press enter.
  18.  
  19. 4. Follow the on-screen installer instructions.
  20.  
  21. 5.   After installation, open the "Strange Days" Program Manager group in Program                  Manager.
  22.  
  23. 6.   Double click the "Strange Days Interactive Trailer" icon to run the Interactive Trailer.

  25. To install the Strange Days Screen Saver
  26.  
  27. 1. In Program Manager choose "Run" under the file menu.
  28.  
  29. 2. Type "D:Strange" where "D:" is the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

  31. 4. Press enter.
  32.  
  33. 5. After installation, select "Desktop" from the "Control Panel" program item in the
  34.      "Main" Program Manager group.
  35.  
  36. 6. Choose "Strange Days" from "Screen Saver".
  37.  
  38. 7. Close the group by clicking on the "OK" button.
  39.  
  40. THREE WAYS TO IMPROVE MULTIMEDIA PERFORMANCE
  41.      OF THE INTERACTIVE TRAILER:
  42.  
  43.    1. Disable networking or log off your network. Novell networking in particular may      
  44.           cause unpredictable performance to happen with multimedia playback.
  45.    2. Disable built-in Windows screen savers.  These can be found in your "Control
  46.           Panels" under "Desktop." Set screen saver to "None."
  47.    3. Disable After Dark or any other commercial screen savers. These should have their 
  48.           own program groups.  Turn them off.
  49.  
  50. QUICKTIME FOR WINDOWS:
  51.  
  52.    QuickTime for Windows version 2.01 ships with this program and is included in the standard installation process. If you have any compatibility problems, please read the document "README.EXE," located on the CD-ROM.
