About Cardmania
---------------
Cardmania is a suite of two compulsive games , called Quintoon and Pokio.
The main objective of both games is to play the cards you are dealt in the
most effective way to maximise the points you can score in the round you are
playing.
Your aim is to progress through as many rounds as possible without losing all
of your lives, and achieve the high score.
Both games use a unique, progressive 'gamepoints' system that increases the
worth of a winning position from one round to the next. The longer you stay in
the game the bigger the rewards for success.
As you progress through the game extra lives will be awarded.

Playing Quintoon
----------------
Quintoon is based on the gameplay principals of 21's or Blackjack.
The key difference between Quintoon and conventional Blackjack is your ability
to build 5 individual hands at the same time, giving a truly exciting challenge
of strategy and risk.
The object of the game is to build each hand up to a maximum of 21, which means
a maximum 'face value' score of 105 can be achieved, by creating 5 hands of 21.
Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings score 10 points, Aces 1 or 11, and all other
cards score their face value.
The 'face value' of your five hands added together is converted to a
'game score' indicated on the play table.
A minimum of 98 points is needed to progress to the next round.
Thus, in the early stages of the game building a combined 'face value' score of
98 will only achieve 1 'game score' point, whereas you progress through the
rounds a 98 'face value' could give alot more 'game score' points.
As soon as you start playing you'll find the scoring system will become second
nature.

Playing Pokio
-------------
Pokio is based on the gameplay principals of poker.
The key difference between Pokio and conventional poker is your ability to
build 3 individual hands at the same time.
Innumerable play and strategy options then come into play, in which you can
decide to for a high risk reward strategy or a more modest but safer route.
The object of the game is to make winning combinations of conventional poker
hands each of which is given 'game score' points. If the total of your
'game score' points meets or exceeds the points target set at the start of the
game you progress to the next round.
The target score will rise each time you are successful, however the points
achievable by winning combinations of cards will also increase.
We'll be surprised if this isn't one of the most compulsive games you have
ever played!
