  1. Forty Thieves is a solitaire card game.
  2. It is a two deck game. Forty cards are
  3. dealt face-up to the tableau. The
  4. remaining cards form the stock, from
  5. which cards can be dealt to a waste
  6. pile. The top card of the waste pile is
  7. then available for use. The goal of the
  8. game is to build all the cards up into
  9. eight goal piles, starting at the Ace
  10. and building up in sequence for each
  11. suit. Cards on the tableau may be built
  12. down in sequence with cards of the same
  13. suit. Forty Thieves is also known as Big
  14. Forty, Napoleon at St Helena, and Le
  15. Cadran (The Dial). Shareware, $10.
