Am I in the wrong class? This is math, not history... But I do need to
say something about history.
I decided to write a math program of my own late 1994 after seraching for
a good math package and, as you may have guessed, was unsuccessful. Don't
get me wrong. We have more than 40 education CD ROMs (and a lot of
others in floppy) at home and my kids have used/seen all of them.
Originally, I did not expect my 6-year-old and 4-year-old to outgrow
this program (ha, ha, ha) so I worked on it only when I had time (which
I didn't have, don't have, and don't know when I will have). Thanks to
my son who keeps giving me pressure on finishing the multiplication and
division parts, this product is finally "done."
I use Visual BASIC to develope this program simply because it's easy
and I got some chances to use it during 1994. Visual BASIC is limited
and not as flexible as other MS Windows programming tools such as
Borland's C++ or Visual C++. For a small scale project of like this,
though, I think Visual BASIC is adequate to handle the job.
The (real) brief history of this program is listed below:
Version 0.9 August 1995
