  2.                  WELCOME TO THE TELECOM ARCHIVES

  5. Welcome to the Telecom Archives. All the back issues of TELECOM Digest
  6. are on file here along with many other files of interest. To review
  7. back issues of the Digest, change to the directory 'back.issues' then
  8. either pull the 'telecom-recent' file or 'cd recent.single.issues'.
  9.  
  10. Most all of the back issues of TELECOM Digest are available, however
  11. at the present time the index of authors and subjects only goes back
  12. to the start of 1989 and it is in three parts for each in use:
  13.  
  14.         1989-->1991  *and*  1992-->1994  *and* 1995-->present
  15.  
  16. The Archives is broken down in to several sub-directories based on the
  17. type of file. Categories include:
  18.  
  19.       areacodes
  20.       carriers
  21.       history
  22.       technical
  23.       reports
  24.       modems
  25.       many other categories
  26.  
  27. Pull the 'Index-telecom.archives' file for a mirror of all the directories
  28. and their contents. This same mirror file is available to users of the
  29. Archives Email Service by using the command INDEX or INFO index.

  31. Please report malfunctioning, polluted or missing files to me.
