                        DOCTOR DIABLO v1.0.3

                      DISTRIBUTION README FILE




        This is release 1.0.3 of Doctor Diablo for multiplayer
        games of Diablo. This software allows you detect players
        who are cheating in a multi-player game of diablo.

        GENERAL INFO:

        This software does not detect all cheaters. Modified
        items such as rings with +100 to all, or whatever, are
        not easily detected. The reason for this is that the
        game RE-COMPUTES the player's items for all players on
        your local machine. If you take a ring of the heavens and
        bump its +attribs to +200, on another player's machine,
        the ring in their inventory will STILL register as
        +15 to all. This is the way the game works.

        I now know how to work around this, but it is going to
        take me a little while to implement it. I am busy all
        week.

        A BRIEF WORD ABOUT THE SOFTWARE:

        The software currently is VERY ACCURATE at finding people
        who MODIFY THEIR STATS. NOTHING MORE. Don't expect it to
        locate every cheat out there.

        THERE WILL BE SOME MORE POWERFULL CHEAT DETECTION FUNCTIONS
        IN THE NEXT RELEASE - 1.0.4

        Fixed some bugs in the older versions. Version 1.0.2
        would complain if a characters base+equip stats were
        not exactly equal to their current stats. This is a
        very weird situation but does occur occasionally.

        This version now displays deviation as the percentage
        of the character's CURRENT ATTS which can be attributed
        to elixirs and such. This brings down the deviations
        considerably.

        high deviations erroneously.

        Currently this software provides the following capabilities:

        1. Stat cheat detection.

                Detects the percentage of a character's attributes
                which can be attributed to their use of elixirs and
                shrines. A very high percentage ( i.e 30+ ) may
                indicate that the player is cheating.


       2. Inventory Analysis

                Allows you to view a player's NON-ACTIVE inventory
                to detect Ears, etc. that might indicate the player
                is a p-killer or item duplicator.

                DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO VIEW ACTIVE WEAPONS, RINGS,
                AND ARMOR. IF THE SOFTWARE DID THIS IT WOULD MAKE
                A HANDY TOOL FOR CHARACTER CLONERS...

        INTERFACE:


        Doctor diablo displays all characters currently in the game
        on the main dialog interface. The character names are color
        coded:

               GREEN TEXT ON BLACK BACKGROUND   = NORMAL CHARACTER
               RED TEXT ON A YELLOW BACKGROUND  = DETECTED CHEAT

        If a player registers as a cheater, you can select the REPORT
        button on the main interface to view the analysis of their
        stats and WEAPON.

        The Report Dialog Box displays the evaluations and whether or
        not the evaluations were passed.

        The INVENTORY button allows you to view the contents of the
        players non-active inventory. If you select items in the
        list box, you can select the VIEW button to view more info
        on the selected items.



        CONFIGURATION INFORMATION

        You use the CONFIG CHEAT DETECT button to access the config
        dialog box. This dialog box allows you to specify parameters
        which control cheat detection. These parameters are:

        1. Acceptable Deviation.

                This parameters sets a ceiling on what percentage
                of a character's attributes should come from
                elixirs and shrines. Anything over this percentage
                will trip the "potential cheater" indication.


                The deviation allows a character to use elixirs and
                shrines to bump up their stats without tripping the
                cheat detection.

                You can be SURE that anyone who trips on a deviation
                of 40% or more is 99% probably a cheater.

        2. Weapon Min Damage Ceiling.

                This allows you to configure the maximum damage
                a weapon can list as it's MINIMUM DAMAGE.

                If a player is carrying a weapon which does a
                MINIMUM DAMAGE greater than this number, that
                character will be flagged as a cheater.


        3. Weapon Max Damage Ceiling

                This allows you to configure the maximum damage
                a weapon can list as its MAXIMUM DAMAGE.

                Any character carrying a weapon which does more
                damage than this as a MAXIMUM will be flagged
                as a potential cheater.

        I will be adding many more functions to this over the next
        week or two. Please stay tuned to the location you obtained
