2] Problems With Font Display:

If you are experiencing problems with the text display of the Dossier, your system may be configured with the Large Fonts display setting. (This setting is sometimes used with the 1024 x 768 video display configuration.) To correct this problem in the Dossier, you must configure your display for Small Fonts.
Configuring for Small Fonts in Windows 95:
1. Right-click on your desktop.
2. Choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
3. Choose the Settings tab.
4. In the Font Size pulldown selector, choose Small Fonts.
5. Click OK.
6. Click OK again to restart your computer, and run the Dossier after reboot.
Consult the video card manufacturer's user's manual to configure for Small Fonts in Windows 3.1.
3] The Video Configuration Program:

During the installation of the Dossier, a video configuration screen will appear. This program tests the video playback abilities of your system, and adjusts the Dossier settings to display the intro video sequence in either full screen (640 X 480) mode, or windowed (320 X 240) mode. The mode the Video Configuration program chooses is optimal for your system. This program only affects the size of the intro video sequence, as all other video clips of the Dossier are played in windowed mode.
In Windows 3.1, the Video Configuration Program does not run automatically during install, and the video mode is set to windowed (320 x 240) upon install. If you believe your Windows 3.1 system is capable of video scaling, you can run the Video Configuration Adjustment and the Dossier will take advantage of this capability if it exists.
Should you adjust your system settings or hardware and wish to test your system again, follow these instructions to run the Video Configuration Program again:
Windows 95:
1. From the Start menu choose the MGM Interactive Program Group.
2. Select Video Configuration Adjustment from the menu.
3. Click Continue.
Windows 3.1:
1. Open the MGM Interactive Program Group.
2. Double-click on the Video Configuration Adjustment icon.
3. Click Continue.
4] Slow and or Choppy Video Playback in Windows 95:
If you experience slow and or choppy video performance in Windows 95, the read-ahead buffer on your CD-ROM settings may need to be adjusted. To increase the read-ahead buffer see below.
1. From the Start menu, choose Settings|Control Panel.
2. Double-click on the System Icon.
3. Select the Performance tab.
4. Click File System.
5. Select the CD-ROM tab.
6. Adjust the Supplemental Cache Size slider all the way to "Large."
7. Click OK.
8. Click OK again to restart your computer
9. Follow the instructions above in "The Video Configuration Program" to re-test your system's video capabilities.
10. Run the Dossier from the icon provided.
5] Changing to 16 Bit Color Mode in Windows 95:

It is recommended that you run the Dossier in 16 Bit color mode for optimum viewing. If your video card supports this color depth, do the following to change to 16 Bit color.
1. Right Click on the Desktop.
2. Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
3. Select the Settings tab.
4. Select "High Color (16 Bit)" from the Color Palette pull-down selector.
5. Click OK.
6. Click OK again to restart your computer, and run the Dossier after reboot.
Consult the video card manufacturer's user's manual to configure for 16 Bit color in Windows 3.1.
6] Reinstalling the Dossier:

Should you choose to reinstall the Dossier, it is recommended that you first Uninstall the application using the provided Uninstall program. To Uninstall the Dossier do the following:
Windows 95:
1. From the Start menu, select the MGM Interactive Program Group.
2. Choose "Uninstall Ultimate James Bond" from the menu.
3. Follow the on screen instructions. The Dossier will be automatically removed.
4. You may now reinstall the Dossier.
Windows 3.1:
1. Open the MGM Interactive Program Group.
2. Double-click on the "Uninstall Ultimate James Bond" icon.
3. Follow the on screen instructions. The Dossier will be automatically removed.
4. You may now reinstall the Dossier.

Web Link is available to users with a direct connection to the Internet and with an Internet browser already installed. The Web Link is located at the bottom right corner of the main menu. This function gives you access to a top secret MI6 Site online, available only to those individuals who possess The Ultimate James Bond: An Interactive Dossier.
Web Link supports Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator Internet browsers. For those individuals using America Online or similar providers, access to this web site is available by pointing your browser to http://www.mgmua.com/bond/dossier.
8] Free Hard Disk Space On System Drive:

This application occupies 15MB of hard drive space for program files, to be placed on the drive you choose during installation. Please allow additional free space (10 to 20 MB) on your system drive to account for operating system swap files and virtual memory. See your Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 documentation for details on drive space requirements.
